Hey guys,
My aunt and uncle have a cabin in Clayton, GA. We are staying up here through the weekend. I took a short stroll around the property and found a few neat mushrooms and fungus.
An ID would be cool, but they are crappy iPhone pics, so I pre apologize. My next investment for this hobby will be a decent camera with a nice macro lense.

Thanks Doc!
I'm hoping to find some amanita from the Caesarean section. I found some jacksonii a few weeks ago and they tasted GREAT! Don't worry, I'll make sure to have any edibles ID'd before I eat them.

3) If it had a ring on the stem, then it's an Amanita in section Caesareae. If no ring, it's Amanita section Vaginatae. Can you carefully excavate the base of the stem and show us what it looks like? 4) Alas! It looks like the stem base broke off. It's an important identifying feature in the genus Amanita. Difficult to say even which section of the genus in this case. 5) Amanita flavoconia.

don't do it bro! I'm sure with patience you can find some shrooms that haven't been through a womb.

Thanks for the ID's, fellas!
We found many more interesting fungi today. The wife and I had a blast!
Wish me luck on my hunt for the elusive amanita jacksonii. I'll be up hunting bright and early. That is, if we don't eat the weilii I brought up here... still feeling the mood of the evening.

If anyone's got dibs on this quote for their signature better speak up now! I'm 'bout to nab it.

I have never seen so many chanterelles. The woods have been loaded with these.
