What type of Psilocybe Mushrooms grow in Clayton County Georgia?
    #18514185 - 07/05/13 03:12 AM (1 year, 1 month ago)

I'm going to start hunting pretty soon and I was wondering what types of psilocybe mushrooms grow in clayton county georgia? I wouldn't say its north georgia it's south of Atlanta probably just above the mid way mark for Geogia. I looked up Psilocybe weilii and wikipedia says they grow in all the surrounding counties but mine I'm thinking that can't be right.. I was just wondering. Any info would be greatly appreciated

I took a look at the list earlier but it's state wide and it's different environments in different parts of the state so I'm guessing some will only grow in certain parts. Do these on the list grow state wide because when I further researched Psilocybe weilii it said it doesn't grow in my area but I'm not sure if that makes any sense because it apparently grows in neighboring counties. I was hoping someone more acclimated to the area that I stay or georgia in general could help

Learn about the climates and habitats mushrooms in your state need in order to grow.

For example alleni is everywhere in sf, but if you go to far east in the state u wont find them.

This thread has been closed.

Reason:
Hunting forum rule:

3. Do not ask what mushrooms can be found growing in your state or immediate area.  That information can be found here:  http://www.shroomery.org/8461/Which-mushrooms-grow-wild-in-my-area Also read An overview on how to find Psilocybin Mushrooms.

A search of the hunting forum indicates that Psilocybe weilii has never been found in Clayton county.

You might find it there though.  You also might find Panaeolus cyanescens, Psilocybe cubensis or P. mexicana.
