Alright, so the ID isn't a problem anymore. But after I pick the mushrooms they will just dry up..right? So, can I just pick them then put them in a plastic bag and they will be safe to eat? Even safe if they are dry? Please answer with full details..I'm a novice obviously. 1. Are they safe dried? 2. How long are they good? 3. Okay to pick then put in a bag and let them get dry in the bag?

They will never dry in a bag. Use a dehydrator or a fan. Most people consume them when they are dry.

Do not sore them in a plastic bag, they will rot.
If you aren't going to eat them fresh you need to ensure they are properly dried.
Use a fan (or food dehydrator, if you have one) to dry them. Once they seem dry put them in an airtight container with damprid or another desiccant so they will become cracker dry.
If the stems don't snap they aren't dry enough.

So, just point a fan at them and let them dry? Then store them in the bag?

Do not sore them in a bag at all, even when dry. They need to be in an airtight container, but only if they are 100% dry.
But yes, point a fan at them and they will dry. It will probably take about 48 hours or so, but it will work.
They will keep for a long time once dried and stored correctly.

You'll want to store them in an airtight container after they are cracker-dry.

Make sure the stem breaks instead of bends. that is how you know they are fully dried. If you dont fully dry them they will most likely rot.

No offense, but it's my natural instinct to have some doubt here. Lots of people get on here thinking they know what they found when in reality they have no clue.

Same. When someone has 2 posts total on this forum and thinks that fungi comprised mostly of water will just dry out in a closed, aporous container, I tend to think critically about the extent of their scientific understanding of mushrooms.
That being said, please make sure you ID your mushrooms properly, OP. Or better yet, let a TI confirm the identity for you after a proper ID request.

So you know how to identify psilocybin containing species but don't know that they will rot in a bag and wonder if they are safe when dried? I don't get it....
(guess I should have read the replies, I'm just piling on here)
