Is there any word about how much the ps4 and one will cost? $500 kind of killed the ps3's release.
I just bought a 3.9ghz i7 3770k yesterday, so either way idc

I would never pay almost a grand for a console... fuck that. I'd just build a super PC at that point and use a USB controller...

So yeah, it's $400 USD. I'm actually surprised, it's not a ripoff.

Well, I have my opinion. I prefer the PS4 and it looks like the PS3 still has a lot of life in it.

Ha, I'm watching that right now.
The X-Box One is several levels of fail.
The PS4 is pretty damn cool, I'm looking forward to some good exclusives. The price doesn't scare the hell out of me either.

I'm an avid fan of the xbox. That being said they really are throwing a big middle finger up to gamers in general. They've ran with the ball of success from the 360 and are taking the XONE to a level of prestige with it's requirements of checking in every 24hrs and game licensing. By prestige I mean that they are indirectly hailing and marketing it as a elitist console. The people with money to burn, they will not care, they will buy it. Sony took the only road they could with any chance of success and didn't follow suit. They made the PS4 a gamers machine. I haven't wanted to own anything but a Microsoft product since the PS2, and now, I'm leaning back that way with the PS4. I just wish the controllers didn't make me bump my thumbs together with the analog sticks. I have long thumbs. An advantage of having the offset sticks on the XBOX controllers.

Yeah microsoft basically said go fuck your self gamers, were looking for a larger consumer...which in some levels is everyone, because xbox has something for everyone, there reaching out beyond gamers. While sony is purley trying to get gamers to buy there console.
Last gen sony had the entertainment sysytem and microshit had a game console, but now it looks as tho they switched places.
Xbox clearly doesnt care about loyal fans, they care about cash their pockets.

No, honestly what Microsoft is doing is competing for overall market share value for the company in it's entirety. They are afraid if they rely on just gamers to carry their product that they'll end up like Nintendo. Unfortunately that's the way the worlds been spinning for awhile. Think of it like how the cellphone market is now. If LG would have just concentrated on how well the phone sounds and it's signal reception then it would have lost it's ass when phones like iphone came out. Microsoft is just trying to make sure they don't lose market share as an entity.
Never thought gaming consoles would get married up with every other single entertainment device in our living rooms though. It's sort of a good thing I guess. More interest from big companies means more games. More games mean more gamers, and more gamers equals more money to make better games. All-in-all it's a great time to be a gamer.

Its funny I've talked to a lot of gamers and the majority of them are saying fuck Xbox one. I've owned an xbox/360 for over 10 years now and own a lot of games. I think I'm gonna have to give the finger to Microsoft. Too many requirements and little give back to gamers for the Xbox One
I don't need my gaming console to be my whole entertainment system. I just want to play games on it. Fucking idiots.
PS4... I'll gave ya a shot. I need a blu ray player anyway.
Its gonna be interesting to see what the sales are like.

The XONE will have a bluray player.
Possibly what is happening is a compete agreement between Microsoft and Sony. Microsoft had won the previous generation console war. Sony realizing this might had suggested to Microsoft to snub out Nintendo and separate gamers into to markets. The 1st market would be the "money" market. People who can afford both systems, will not use pirated games, and see no problem with Microsoft's gaming model (mainly due to the person having lots of money to throw around). The 2nd is the budget shopper. They are more likely to buy the cheaper console, that can have a better chance to play pirated games so they can save some bucks, and is seemingly concentrated mainly on games. A lot of gamers seem to be cash strapped, hence the huge business of trading-in and used games.
Just a thought.

So, have the graphics cards for either of these new consoles been announced yet?
So far it seems like the "speed/power" argument is only about processors, which have very little difference as far as I can tell.
(not to mention, they don't mean nearly as much as the graphics cards do)
