    #18296988 - 05/21/13 10:37 AM (1 year, 2 months ago)

Habitat:
Michigan, in mulch of unknown origin, next to a large maple tree

Gills:
white, becoming brown with age, very close, not attached.

Stem:
4 inches max length, 1/2 inch max diameter, white, fibrous, solid, thick

Cap:
Diameter, cinnamon red-brown when young, turning tan with age, texture, irregular parabolic, convex.

Spore print color:
medium brown, like milk chocolate

Bruising:
brown

Other information:
noticed several roly-polys (aka pill bugs) munching on them.

Habitat and general appearance make me lean towards tricholoma. I'm not at all convinced by the accuracy of the spore print (inconsistent with gill color, print looks more like a moisture stain with pigments from the pileus) and I would like to see a shot of the gills, particularly gill attachment.

I'd say Tricholoma or perhaps Lyophyllum sp. could be close, yet as Koraks
says the spore print looks incomplete, and in any way you should try to upload
the pictures separately and in larger scale, if possible. Welcome to the Shroomery...

Yeah, lyophyllum sounds like a good candidate too. We have already narrowed it down to a couple of thousand species

I'm going to guess Agrocybe

Here is a shot of the gills. Still working on trying to make a decent spore print. Edges are curled under, so I've used a blade to cut away the blockers.
