-JUST TO FURTHER ELABORATE ON THE GREATNESS THAT WAS THE CT RAVE SCENE-
"I had to dig through g00gle gr0ups AAall day to find it...as I posted it way" back on the usenet group alt.rave back in 1999 a few days after I went to ALIVE (The rave I referenced) and had all my senses finally back together"
ENJOY!
-----------------------BEGIN PASTE-------------------------------------
Hi, went to a rave on my birthday sept 25th (Yes I am 18 now so please kneel!). Took me a hell of awhile to find some blotter tabs, finally this shady dood sells me 2 hits of phishes, you know it had the imprint of the lead singer from the dead wannabe band. The tabs felt, well like a weak paper body high trip, almost reminded me of the sucky Connecticut dancing condoms that are going around. So I wait 2 hours and im not really going anywhere trip wise, so I dance for awhile then go off on a mission to find some liquid cid. I find a dood who gives me a couple of drops for 3 bucks a hit around 11PM.
This substance seemed to just get stronger and stronger as the night progressed, it just would not stop going up. I tripped to a point where it was almost like a person who takes a drug and is on it and knows he is just high or trippin or whatever and see the cools trails and pretty colors, and the mental insights, ETC, I felt like the drug was getting high on me to be serious.
Around 1AM my brain could longer process vison anymore (The more I tried the more stressed I got so I just shut my eyes), total mind and ego was all I had, when I was able to see something the walls were spinning faster than my brain was thinking and everything looked pretty much like level 1 of doom 2, and the break dancers seemed to be breaking in slow motion.
Also when this shit really kicked in I was trapped on the floor next to a 20,000 watt speaker which depending on if I laid down or sat up would make my body tingly and nice or tingly and painful which I figured out eventually that sitting up in the indian position was the best way to deal with this trip.
Now I have done liquid before and had the floors melt and blah blah blah and went for walks all night long and watched manhole covers bubble up and shit, the thing was I didn't get that effect until about 3 or 4.
Did I just indulge in too many mind expanding substances that night, could the liquid had been something else, or could me doing a 2nd plateau DXM trip grapefruit juice enhanced the night before interacted with the cid. Im telling you guys man, if it wasn't for all the trip reports I have read in the past on erowid and here.
I probly would have freaked out. I kept telling myself Im peaking but will come down, im peaking but I will come down. Hehe, anyway hope you enjoyed my story.Oh BTW by 7AM I finally came down and had a kick ass afterglow! CYA! Off to Dex!

>Haha, I'd partied with Venom once. Cool dude, straight sober and all >about it. You ever hear his mixtape 'Ghetto Booty'? Legendary. > Yeah Venom is a very nice caring guy that did alot for the CT Rave Scene! I highly admire his record scratching and mixing skills! You ever hear his Tetris Happy Hardcore mix?? It will knock you into another world! =)
But sadly I lost touch with him over the years...but last time I spoke with him on Myspace a few years back...Venom told me he was suffering from cancer...but it thankfully went into remission...

my cuz was actually apart of BTS in and around 2000. its where i got most my shit from. him and a few friends would always drive down to texas for a few weeks and would either stay with us or a close friend of the family.
he did have some pretty fucked up stories, but for the most part, they were always exciting to me.
in 04' he caught a 2nd degree manslaughter here in texas. he was on all sorts of shit and lost control in drove into on coming traffic. there were two adults and 2 kids. the mom and the younger sister walked away, the dad and the brother did not. due to all his other charges, the amount of drugs they found on him, and the name he took with him, he got 2 life sentences.
i did talk to him at first, but over the years, it kinda just stopped. not even sure if the guy is still alive.
there are some pics of him and his crew, some of the original members, on my parents pc. ill see if i can pull some up when i go by on sunday.
crazy you bring this shit up. i forgot all about him and that scene.

This will probably fall on deaf eyes any ways... but
I use to go to party and raves EONS ago. Talking about 1991-94 in the LA and Orange counties in California. Real strong and popular scene however at the beginning most places would RUN MAP POINTS. This is when you get a Flyer but you don't know where the events going to be. Then you go to the first location on the Flyer; once there they will give you another flyer to the next point and so on.
You don't know how many points you have to hit at the beginning; but that's where the fun begins.
The people who use to put on the Parties would do the MAP POINT THING just so they could WEED-OUT The Undesirable people who are going to fuck up the scene and generally cause problems.
Thus these assholes from NY - they would have been weeded out if their was a Map Point Contingent going on!
But sadly even in LA/OC they stopped doing Map POints in the Mid 90s. That's when I started seeing the Scene getting Younger and Younger. When I first started going to Raves EVERYONE Was at least in the twenties, bye and large older than 18(!), no children.
I didn't go to a Rave for like over six or seven years. Got invited to one at the MetroDome in Orange California because a friend's little brother was Spinning on his Birthday and it was put on for him; so I went.
I never felt fucking more out of place at a scene then I did there. By this time I was in my late twenties and 90% of everyone there was like in high school, it was nuts. This place was more of a Crack House than a Club. That and I had never Encountered a Cuddle Puddle until then.

The scene didn't change, you did. Rave scene was always a great place for people 20 and under that couldn't get into the bars or the clubs. Once you are a bit older, who really wants to see a bunch of 15 year olds rolling face dancing to subpar electronic music? I get nostalgic when I see it, but I'm not 15 anymore and it weirds me out more than anything.

Didn't read much of it, but I don't see the problems in the jam band scene. Especially Furthur with the old people around. There aren't really cliques - if you feel the music, you've got something in common with the next guy - whether it's a cute 18 year old hippie chick or a 70 year old Deadhead. The drugs on the scene are usually legit (I will say I've never bought LSD there, just weed/shrooms, but people say L is legit usually too), people are always friendly, I've never noticed cops getting into people's business..

Would love to find more Dead Heads in their 20's or people not just looking to use somebody for their profit. That's a childish mentality I want to connect with people on a deeper level

I've often wondered why the BTS business model didn't spiral into the jam scene, and why it isn't the major trend in parties these days.
All the helpless drug dealers at jam band festivals seem like they're begging for this sort of thing.

I don't understand why they don't legalize Psychedelics and sell them at head shops where doses can be controlled. We could tax it and raise the economy from huge debt. China won't have to give us a penny and we would be a free county again.

and put it into a computerized database that can be accessed through any head shop. It would stop people from using hardcore drugs or buying it on the street.

Wow America is a sad place, over here they apparently take music seriously as I often meet people far in their thirties on parties/raves. The group I hung out with three weeks ago on a festival youngest was 29, oldest was 54.
Too old for good music?
Then again for me it was never for the partying in the first place... Kickdrums are my fetish, breaks are my addiction, 303 is my love .

That is too funny. If I was a cop, I'd have no interest to check online postings. I don't think that's an officers job. I think that a different branch of government. I work at in retail where the pay sucks.
