Hey Shroomery community! I was taking a stroll around the block and noticed some small mushrooms growing on some mulch beneath a tree. On further inspection I noticed that they bruised black, with a blueish tint. Im not sure what kind of mushroom they are but Im hoping they're Psilocybe Caerulipes or Panealous Fimicola. I dont know, but lemme see what you think?! thanks

Nope.

Where do you live, Jupiter? What region? It's a little early for P.caerulipes. Maybe you should be looking for something else like Panaeolus cinctulus.

Lexington, KY. The blue grass. I've just been picking every suspicious shroom Ive seen and that batch seemed the closest to what I've read about.

You're going to have to do some reading. Going out and grabbing every mushroom you see and posting it here may be fun, you're going to have to work a little and hunt for certain species in certain places at certain times.
You should be looking for Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata in Japanese knotweed down by the river.

Well I plan on picking up a good mushroom ID guide tommorow. I've done research but nothing is consistent. Some people say one type grows here another says they don't. I definately will have my eyes open for ovoids. Thanks for the advice. I'd like to become as proficient in mushrooms as you and others here on shroomery appear to be one day.

What an odd request. Why don't you make a thread in this forum?
