I felt this cactus calling my name while we were at a local garden looking at Christmas lights, it seemed a bit worse for wear so I decided to take it home. The tag that had the species name was broken in half, leaving our only clue: ******/pe Cactus ******/reus Here's some pictures: I can tell right away that it desperately needs a deeper pot, but I live in Pennsylvania and we're supposed to get snow this week, so I'm not sure when I should do the re-potting. It was in a some kind of hothouse area indoors at the store, so I'll keep it in a warm room by a window. Will that be ok for now, or should I think about making it go dormant over winter? Any advice on keeping this thing healthy or links to general cactus guides for the cold winter/hot and humid summers we have in the Mid Atlantic would be greatly appreciated. If I can get this thing to thrive that would be great, if you can at least help me at keep it alive and reasonably healthy, that's good too, I know the weather here is not ideal.
