Replacing my vehicle's Audio System.
    #16883996 - 09/21/12 01:42 AM (7 months, 28 days ago)

The other day I blew a 10 year old amplifier (the fan went out and it overheated) in my vehicle.  I really hadn't had the audio system setup right anyway.  It's a pathfinder and it has a stock Bose system (which came with the luxury version as an upgrade) so it never sounded terrible, I threw in a sub with low power to match the system, but since that amplifier died I've decided to fully upgrade it.

My vehicle has a touch screen navigation system and a Type-X alpine subwoofer, I just ordered a D class Mono amplifier from Alpine, and I've got an infinity 90watt x 4 (RMS) 4channel amplifier.  The pathfinder has four door speakers and two tweeters (in the pillars).

I'm trying to figure out what type of speakers to get in the inside.  So far I'm leaning toward getting some 6.5" kappa component 2 ways for the front (separate tweeters from the woofer that I'll install in the pillars) and some more kappa 2 or 3 ways for the rear door speakers.  What do you guys think?

i got my audio system installed by car toys...it was actually pretty legit, they hooked me up with a free alarm system, they put that shit in my doors so they don't ratte, and a free bluetooth setup

granted it was still pretty expensive, but the really cool part is the lifetime warranty...so if i blow a speaker out or anything they'll fix it for free and if in 4 years i get a new car and want the system in there they will replace the original system and put my system into my new car free of charge

I haven't played around with car audio in so very long, Boston Acoustics splits in the front, with Infinity Kappa 6x9's on the rear shelf was the best sound I ever achieved, I miss that car.
