 Contam question

I shot up a rye bag a few weeks ago with Malabar. It colonized but when I added it to the substrate I noticed a alcohol/fermented/yeast smell. I did not see any odd colors, just white and off-white myc. I decided to move forward and fill two trays. Now a week later I am getting nice colonization but that smell is stronger.
I know I have contam, but the growth process seems to be moving forward anyway. Should I chuck it all or see what grows? Will the fruits be dangerous to consume because they grew in a contaminated medium, or can mushrooms grow up healthy despite that?

I'd fruit it outside.. away from the main grow area. Any fruits that grow are edible.. think about it- all outdoor substrates are "contaminated".

Somewhere at some time RR said that the mushrooms themselves will not absorb the toxins of it's substrate. I know I've seen a quote around here...
I wouldn't keep growing them in my house.

Possible bacteria. It will probably fruit but it won't be as good as it could have been.
Why do you have it out in the open like that? It needs to be sealed up with some GE.

I only opened it for pics. I know you'd want to see pics. Otherwise it's under foil. I assume GE is gas exchange? The foils cover is loose enough to allow that. Also when you say it won't be as good, what do you mean? Potency? Taste? Pinning?

never expose the substrate to fae before 100% colonization....could lead to early pinning

Won't get as good of a pinset probably, but you never know 
You shouldn't even open it for pics. Any bit of dust of whatever is in the air lands on the unclonized parts and you will probably see even more contam.

A quick update on the trays. I gave them a sniff test this morning and all the "stale beer" smell is gone. Just nice earthy mush smell. I didn't think this could actually happen. Woo hoo.

Update: one tray got blue/green stuff growing on it. That one went to the trash. The other looks okay but had one spot with something that looked like spider web. Any idea what that is?
