    #16793105 - 09/05/12 05:30 PM (9 months, 7 days ago)

hello, decided to grow some mushrooms on a whim(with the new credit card) and without really thinking bought a fair amount of stuff.
100 unicorn bags, 68ltr pan, pressure guage, gasket, clamps, stuff to make an laminar flow hood etc etc....
on realising i have no knowledge of the edibles i am in need of help.
i have bought reishi, lions mane, shiitake and maitake, i have only ever used pf cakes for cubes many years ago but was quite successful, so..

can i still use the 4percent honey lc and is it best?
planning to do indoor, monotubs a good way to go?
seeking wood chip myself, fresh branch any good?
any point using rye grain if wood chip is available?
best substrate mix for these strains?

thanks in advance

For shiitake, if you already have the things to grow cubes you can try this: shiitake brf. It was a good starter for me.

thanks for your reply i have been considering caks but as i have ordered 100 bags, pc stuff and no longer have jars it seems a better idea to try trays/monotubs and i have also read that wood substrates are the better way to go however nice grow will consider it
