Do you think you have a grip on reality?
    #16776824 - 09/02/12 04:20 PM (9 months, 10 days ago)

I am not going to share with you what I think reality is but I just want to point out that I feel I have a decent perception on what it is.

I'm not looking for a definition, just a short answer if you have it all worked out.

So, do you "think" you have a good grip on reality?

-Droz

The fact on what reality is doesn't need to be shared in this thread.

At times, but it fluctuates. I wouldn't want a good grip on it, though...I like being surprised and challenged. Seems stagnant to be 100% sure of everything :sun:

So a yes or no answer is all you are looking for?  :tongue2:

Then, I will answer 'yes'.

I love it when i communicate with people and ask them about what i already knew, then question what they say to improve their words for one that do not understand.

I just want to point out that I feel I have a decent perception on what it is.

OMG :curbyourenthusiasm:  I love this place.

"People convince themselves of their own lies, becoming victims of their own inventions as they begin to direct their lives by standards of behavior, ideas, feelings, or instincts which do not correspond to their inner reality. What is truly serious in this matter is that the individual loses all points of reference regarding what comprises truth, and what comprises lies. He becomes used to considering as true only that which is convenient for his personal interests; everything that is in opposition to his self-esteem or in conflict with already established prejudices, he considers false."

In old age Diogenes stopped a veteran and asked, “What were you in the last war?”
“Oh, I was only a private,” replied the veteran.
Diogenes rocked as if about to fall. “Ye gods!” he gasped. “At last!” Then after catching his breath he blew out his lantern and went home.

The spirit of the tryptamine lives in us all here on the shroomery. If anybody knows anything about reality, its us. I like to think i have it figured out but whenever I do I get thrown for a loop again. Death is the real answer to our questions.

When I have rid myself of fear, Reality shines.

When I experience fear, all that exists is fear. No Reality.
