take it from Doc (and/or myself), 1/4 inch holes, on all six sides, 5ish inches of perlite, elevated.
i'm very glad you decided to make your own sgfc; i'd like to ask your partner what he thinks the perlite is doing if theres no holes in the bottome and it can't breath. i'd also like to ask what they think about the stagnant water in the bottom of the tub if there are no holes.
BUT, i'd HIGHLY suggest dunking those cakes for 24 hours (submerged), then washing them off and rolling them in dry verm, and placing them on aluminum foil squares (or whatever).

Yeah I went over there and corrected everything.....
I was told not to roll them after them being in the tank for so long...
I saw the aluminum foil squares what do they do. I saw them doing it in the video but they never mentioned anything about it..... I don't think???

Foil is so the myc doesn't start taking over the perlite .. separation

Most contams reside within a foot of the floor... you might want to put those up higher... give them all the advantage possible.... just my 2 cents

It was about 71 degrees down there from what I read that's okay...... if it was warmer they would grow faster correct!!!¿

Warmer = faster but hollow , cooler = slower but denser... Most of the time
