Proper Use of LC question

Hey everyone. A FOAF is planning on using some spores to create liquid cultures to grow from. He is using cubensis spores if that makes any difference. After doing lots of research he has found much information regarding how to make and store LC but thus far has been unable to find the method by which the LC is applied to a substrate (I'm assuming via syringe) and how much is necessary for successful inoculation. My friend was thinking of using 1 gallon rectangular rubber made containers with WBS as the substrate.

LC is a huge waste of time, don't even bother with it.
Also, you're skipping some steps there. Where you want to start is PF Tek, that's got the best chance of working well the first time.

Just start with the spores to inoculate some PF jars. It'll help you learn the fundamentals and good sterile procedure. Once you're comfortable and successful you can apply what you've learned to bulk substrates. LC is an extra step that can potentially add a lot of problems if you don't do it right.

Its not even about doing it right....LC from spores is a gamble.

OP, watch these free video clips: http://www.mushroomvideos.com/BRF-Pf-Tek http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Terrarium-Tek
Roger Rabbit shows the PF Tek there. Do it like that, you'll like the results.

LC is generally applied to spawn jars (sterilized grain), ideally through an inoculation port.
Ideally the LC jar will also have an inoculation port. Read up on LC lids (there's one in my journal), and grain prep, sealant ports, etc.
