I have tried it before and it helped from spreading but it does kill the area you put it on.

Lol, so this was forever ago... But I'm working on my 50 posts anyway, I have that happen almost every time. Whether fresh, dried, cooked a bit, big, small, and any amount either... I usually turn like, dark. The worst of it being in my legs, like, sort of a purple-reddish color, like being really cold almost. I'm glad to hear it's not just me that turns funny colors. Lol, I had to ask my sober friends if I was just imagining it! XD

It's been 5 days since I birthed. There is an identical cake next to this one in a separate fruiting chamber (2ltr soda bottle) that looks clean and is pinning wonderfully. This blue dot, as well as a few others, started popping up on day four. I swabbed it with a Q-tip and nothing came off. Then I used a bit more force and was able to scrape some of it off. I heard that means it's mold, but I just wanna make sure before I ditch the whole thing entirely. My fear is that it's a time bomb waiting to contaminate the successful one. Please help ASAP Thank you

My buddy has a BRF cake that started off very healthy with thick fluffy white mycellium. however, after about 90% colonization he noticed that in the middle area of growth (the cake was colonizing from each side of the jar, right and left and growing to join each other) the mycellium was off white, even grey-ish colored so he assumed contamination but wasnt so sure. however the thick white mycellium seems to be overtaking this grey area and is covering it over with pure whiteness. if the grey gets covered with mycellium completely, does this mean the cake is safe? can mycellium overcome a weak contaminate? sorry he doesnt have pics..

Simple Question about my pasteurized straw.
That I left in the water for 2 days <- laziness And came out with a sour smell.
I decided to inoculate the bags with LC's anyways. Should i expect anything at all? or is the sour smell a way for the bag to say "to much bacteria, I wont give you any mushrooms"

Rabbit poo being collected in a bucket with lid has formed the "beautiful white" referred to in the cultivation section of this site. The poo is being collected from areas not mixed with urine , for this reason I was curious whether it could be inoculated without too much worry about contamination. Do I need to crush it or mix it with straw or does it have the potential to be used as is ? (Have started a liquid culture using dextrose )

Is there an easy way to tell the difference between blue mold and the blue bruising of the Ps. race?

My question is about the yellow colored contams. I have 3 jars colonizing at the moment and all three have a yellowish color to them, looks like they are pretty moist on the inside which concerns me. Could this be because of bacteria or can these be kept to fruit?
