Taller people make more money
    #16710832 - 08/16/12 09:14 PM (9 months, 2 days ago)

It is true.

Taller people exude leadership, power and knowledge.

Shorter people have looked up to them, literally, not because they want to but because they have to. Short people also understand this.

Taller people on the other hand look down on shorter people, this empowers the ego. I know because I am tall.

Every CEO I have met has been tall. A majority of supervisors, operation managers, and managers are tall.

HR departments are more willing to put a taller person in a position of leadership because they KNOW that the person has confidence...Who wouldn't have confidence being 6'1 -6'4?

Regular employees feel more inclined to listen to a person that is taller than them.

This goes back to primal man. Taller people were over the tribes. Because of that primal behavior of man.....

..FIGHTING, this thought comes to mind subconsciously when meeting a taller person for the first time. The shorter person unfortunately knows that if they were to engage in a fight with the taller person either they would lose or it would be one hell of a fight.

I KNOW because I am tall and I was once a fighter. I had no problems getting in the ring with a guy shorter than me.

But let's take a moment in our minds to assess the issue.

-Have all my bosses really been taller than me?

-Have I looked up to them?

-Have I not been promoted because I am short?

-Where does education come in to play?

-Where are the statistics?

There are studies

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/Careers/02/02/cb.tall.people/index.html

and if you are opposed to CNN

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/science-news/5887567/Tall-men-earn-more-than-shorter-colleagues-research-claims..html

If you do not believe it then now you know.

Studies show taller men and women make more money....And get this...THEY MAKE MORE "PER INCH" PER YEAR.

Throw good looks in the mix and you have a CEO, a self made millionaire, your next boss.

This will never change because it is a primal instinct. "Put the taller guy in charge" plan and simple. Mix that mentality with the corporate world and we now have a "Give the taller guy more money" mentality.

I wrote this short article to keep you all in the know, assess yourself, assess your skills, and know what you are up against. Even if you are 6'0 or 6'2 because someone out there is taller then you, and they may just come along and take your job.

So what trumps height?

Knowledge, intelligence, innovativeness, and the mentality to take charge.

Read books, expand intelligence, speak clear and use intelligible terminology. AND EVER SO IMPORTANT....LEARN ABOUT LAW!!!! Read law books people. You'll astound others with your knowledge of law because it show even more POWER.

Walk with your head high and back straight. You might think this sounds crazy but these techniques into leadership WORK. Firm hand shakes especially my favorite. The power hand shake.

Give a firm grip and extend your index finger, Press on the other persons wrist with your extended index finger. This is apart of hand shake science. It shows power and control.

I'd like to thank you all for your time in reading. Please read the attached articles if you like. They include the studies. I would post them but I don't want some bogus copy right crap to go down.

Also, families with more money can afford to grow taller kids.

You are right. REAL Human Growth Hormone costs upward of 1500USD.

Most families can not afford to pay that kind of money to make their kids taller.

Growth plate expansion is also very costly.

But this is no COMPLETELY about BEING TALL this is more so about the mentality of taller people. And why the are more successful, or "GIVEN" positions in business which pay a lot more.

That is what I wanted people to take away from this article.

The mindset, because taller people do have a different ego. Mainly cause there are few people they have to literally look up to. That affects the ego more than you think.

Its as simple as having access to health care and effectively unlimited food.  Ever seen immigrant families where the kids tower over the parents?

yes but who said this was about poor families with with good genetics.

Did you look at the studies not every tall person is successful I know that. Read the original post.

You are all missing the point here. It's not about children and what could have been done to make them taller, or the rich or the poor.

It is about the mentality of a tall person. How could you miss that ....

This.  I think in an increasingly global world, effects of height and physical appearance will matter less and less.

Although i agree with the statement that taller people in general have more confidence i would like to point out two things.

>using news sources as "research" does not prove anything, finding something academic and peer reviewed however does.
>I find research of this type to be stupid and a waste of money and time, sure you may be able to find patterns but does it solve anything. Just like when i worked in a research lab throughout undergrad we published TONS of papers out of which 1 or 2 contributed anything useful to the world however all of them ate up government funding... but this is not going off on a tangent.

I very much like the last part of your post though. I am a proponent of knowledge trumps all however. I find your obsession with power sad however. People who see knowledge of law as something to be amazed at are not people who i would care to impress anyway... anyone with half a brain can get into law school(being a good lawyer is a entirely different story however) and pass the bar. go talk to some engineers, chemists or doctors and see just how impressed they are by law.

this is an excellent point and something reported x, y, and z would never be able to correlate with people being tall. Money > Everything else.

im guessing you think anyone can get into law school is funny? maybe where you live this is not the case. In the US however it is not hard to get into law school with a sub 3.0 gpa and mediocre LSAT. However I would not knock on people making it into top 20 law schools as they all require excellent gpa and LSAT.

Are you JOKING meams?  The people I mentioned are some of the most prominent people throughout the whole of history.

That's like calling the seven wonders of the ancient world "a few buildings amongst millions".

OP is not correct, my link clearly demonstrates that.  In fact, my link demonstrates the exact opposite of what you postulate.

But saying "period" at the end of your sentence makes it sound more forceful so yeah, go with that.

What about Genghis Khan, most influential man in history, conqueror of more peoples and landmass than any other human in history?  Know how tall the average mongolian was in the 12th-13 century?  Not very tall.

I think you're seeing lots of motorcycles because you're looking for them.

don't argue with OP man he is right. if you have a different view than him he gives you a low rating and then posts emoticons to back up his story. I completely agree with you but you aren't going to change anyone's minds or even have an intelligent conversation in this thread.

OP you sound pretty insecure. Sorry to break it to you, but height alone won't get you anywhere. But hey, keep thinking you're better than everyone else if it makes you feel better :yesnod:
