It serves NO purpose. It is uncomfortable and chokes your necks. Why is this clothing anachronism something that is supposed to give you status? I think it is foolish that you 'have to wear a tie' for so many functions. It's a ridiculous, outdated, waste of money and a burden for anyone who has to wear one.

Ties rock.
I used to hate them, then I tolerated them...now I love them. I buy more ties than I could ever wear...A tie can say so much with plausible deniability...some ties say "don't fuck with me" while others say "you know you want to do me"...

i think ties are great man. a tie is what sets you apart from all the other silks out there in the street. ties are where people show their flavour and style and shiat. plus a good tie can take a suit to the next level
i like getting all pimped up and putting on expensive suits and shit though. most people don't enjoy it. but because i've generally dressed like a street kid for most of my life, its likea special occurence for me to get all pimped up and strut around in expensive clothes and shit

not really the tie and kinda jazzs up a suit and your probably gonna have way more ties than suits. Its gives suits different lifes.

I haven't worn a tie since going to grade 3 at a catholic school (a brief stint.) Thats about 15 years, FYI.
It's one of those things i will not do, under virtually any circumstances.

Call me stubborn - but quite frankly, i don't put on a show with my social behavior, and i won't do it with a suit. I pretty much wouldn't want to be anywhere that requires these things of me.
