 So.. this whole upcoming societal collapse.

Even as a generally reserved, skeptical human being, it seems extremely difficult to imagine the world carrying on as it is for much longer. Just on a very basic level, not giving credence to any particular line of reasoning specifically being the cause, and even less sure of the ability to predict what the circumstances will be when it begins to take place. World War II was only fucking 70 odd years ago. That can feel like yesterday when considering how insignificant a blip on the radar it really is after considering the technological advancements that took place in the 70 years prior to that event. It's been retardedly exponential in recent years, and the general reasonable, honest disposition and state of humanity is stagnant or declining.
The people who have paid for and oversaw the development of all the incredibly dread inspiring arms and intelligence are going to want a real good chance to give 'em a whirl sooner or later. That much feels intuitive. Wealth and power aren't enough when that is in your psychology already, so craving absolute control and implementing devastation of some sort is the logical next goal to those people. This is all very base level speculation, and I cannot see it being an irrational fear the way things are going? Who knows how long it will take them to get everything lined up and ready to flip the switch, but when that switch is flipped, Jesus Fucking Christ are we all going to be in for it. And it's going to be a brutal slap in the face to all of the people alive and in history who had and have good hearts and work or have worked for something beautiful and constructive for our future instead of this terribly predictable hell we seem to be on a single track train toward.
We can do as much preparation in anticipation for such an event, but honestly even if you think your guns and your cache of supplies and food are going to ensure your safety and independence for anything more than a temporary period when animals with arms and legs like you are panicking, hungry and selfish while already dying by the millions, I may tend to think your thought process slightly unrealistic. It's a fucking good start to do all that, no question. If this ever ends up being where we find ourselves within a decade or three, I hope I do have access to at least one gun and one bullet, because that would be solace a la H.S. Thompson. I fall apart at the notion of coming into the hands and ownership of anything or one that is fundamentally not on my side and divorced of their empathy/compassion.

The collective hive mind is having birthing pains. We will bare this beast soon enough. Those that love their lives shal lose them.
I am at the point that I just don't fucking care anymore. Bring it on and bring your worst. Hopefully whoever remains will live in solace someday. The greatest conspiracy is that we are in control. I haven't had an original thought in years. tick tick tick...

I know exactly what you mean and it's pretty depressing. I as an individual have no delusions of being in control of anything, including my own self destructive habits and I suppose my entire consciousness. I am desensitized enough like you that I ultimately cannot care enough because of the fact it is way beyond anything I could ever have an influence on changing, but I am 3 quarts drunk and of course raped with amphetamine in my blood.

Sometimes i feel like a parasitic virus that has taken over this beautiful body in order to have some scene of semblance; yet unable to have any compassion as to the damage I do to it every day. I wonder if somewhere inside of me is the true human and he whispers silently in the hopes i will someday listen. My mind lies to me. My eyes are like yours; open wide yet unable to see. There's no harm in being prepared for anything, whether it be societal collapse or natural disaster. Some of my friends think I'm crazy for prepping, but they will be knocking on my door if the time ever comes when they need me, and I won't hesitate to help.
Why would you want to kill yourself in such an event? It's what we've been waiting for this whole time. The collapse. And with a gun? That's just sloppy. If you plan on just giving up, you should drown yourself with some stone weights and rope, or better yet, suffocation with a plastic bag and riot cuffs. Much less chance of staying alive for hours while your brains leak out of your skull.
Oh and Hunter didn't kill himself. He was working on a piece about 9/11 when they did him in.

Of course I don't have evidence, I'm not a cop nor did I know Hunter or have a degree in forensics and search his house. It's a conspiracy theory that I happen to believe is true. They also killed JFK, Jack Ruby, RFK, Malcom X, John Lennon, and tons of others. No, I don't have evidence for any of those either. That's why there is a forum for conspiracy theories, so people can put their wacky ideas out there. Again, sorry if you were expecting anything better.

I'm fortunate to be fairly old. I've done my best work, and had fun at a time before things were quite so crowed and crazy. When I was a kid pollution was hardly on the radar as far as we knew. Now I really don't give a shit if it all goes to hell. Heaven knows we deserve it.

People who haven't spent a good deal of time and effort separating the truth from dis/misinformation, exercising their intuition and discernment above commonly held beliefs, will naturally have great difficulty overcoming the barriers they've been setting up their whole lives.
I'm blessed to have begun my deprogramming from a young age. I can't imagine how difficult it will be for those in denial when they learn the undeniable truth.

Sorry, but societal collapse won't come from advanced technology and weaponry, it will come from a collapse of energy resources that power our entire world (food, transportation, communication, etc) and a battle over fresh water sources. Advanced technology will only come in handy when one country wants that water more than another. You can live without oil; you can't live without water. But you probably couldn't even get that water anyway if you don't have the power to extract it from underground sources or import it from a different region...desert cities and communities will be the first to go.
