Getting pulled over for rolling through a stop sign is whack. But getting pulled over, having a gun pointed in your face, and then being strip searched on the side of the road in front of your two children for rolling through a stop sign is, well, really whack and probably an excessive use of force.
At least. that's what a new lawsuit in the Sunshine State is claiming.
Last July, Leila Tarantino claims that she was pulled over by an officer with the Citrus County Sheriff's Department. In the suit, Tarantino says she came to a full stop and should have never been pulled over in the first place.
A passing cop pulled a u-turn, flashed the lights, and rolled up behind her. Tarantino claims that the cop immediately drew his weapon, pulled her from the car, and refused to explain why he pulled her over. Tarantino's two young children watched all of this unfold from inside her car.
The cop then placed Tarantino in the back of the squad car, where she allegedly sat for two hours. When backup arrived, Tarantino was strip searched on the side of the road, where passing motorists could see everything.
Then, in a gruesome twist, a female officer "forcibly removed" a tampon from Tarantino. Presumably, the cops were looking for drugs, but the lawsuit notes that a drug-sniffing dog was never called in, and cops never found any contraband or anything illegal.
The lawsuit does not name the cops involved but notes that there were five male officers and one female officer.

If it weren't for the Tampon thing Id say she has no case, cops can pretty much do what they want. But thats kinda messed up, its possible she'll win. I hope so anyway...

But without a drug dog, the basis of oh so many illegal searches, they had no cause to assume she was holding drugs. They subjected her to an excessively invasive search with the evidence they have. However, this is assuming there is documentation to back up everything she is saying. The cops could just be like "Bitch, shit didn't go down like that" and its over

I've never heard of strip searches being legal without going to a private area and being out of sight of members of the opposite sex.
This shit is almost unbelievable, even with my incredibly low opinion towards the average officer of the law

Maybe, maybe not. I wasn't there, I don't why they searched her. Agreed it sounds sketchy. But you don't need a dog to search for drugs.
But this is written by the people filing the lawsuit, so it's going to be exaggerated.
Strip searched on the side of the road doesn't seem plausible, but maybe.

quite  i hope she wins , even if she had drugs you cant strip search in the street let alone perform such action with out an X ray evidence

What? No, if somebody is strip searched, the vag is part of the search.
Could be anything from guns to bombs to drugs in there. She could have a nuke there!
If they had failed to search it and some cop ended up stabbed, that would have been obvious negligence, right?
From the story, the search was invalid. Maybe she'll win her lawsuit.
But searching the vag is part of a strip search, cops did that part of it right.
(I honestly doubt they did it roadside. If so, that was wrong too and she'll win.)
