Photos of Day 21 of My Bulk Tek

guys this is my first bulk tek. i've tried to do everything right, as i've learned it in this forum. today is Day 21 since i added my grain spawn to the coir/verm/gypsum substrate. you can see my setup in the pics below. please critique!! if anyone sees that im doing something wrong, lemme know! it wont hurt my feelings. i ask this because here i am on Day 21 and shouldn't i have pins already??? since i added the bulk grain to the substrate, colonization was impressive/quick! but, now it just kinda seems to be sitting there. i did notice 1 TINY pin, a little larger than a pin head. but, otherwise, what ya think is going on? here's the details of what i did: --- 3 weeks ago i mixed the bulk grain in with the substrate under very sanitary conditions. i field tested the mix before adding the spawn and the moisture seemed right. colonization was robust and quick. the holes on my monotub were taped shut and i never took the lid off for 18 days. there was ALOT of moisture (little pools of water were accumulating along the walls), and there was moisture on the substrate, on the walls, on the lid, etc. again, on Day 18 i opened the lid, fanned the substrate very well, removed the tape, and loosely inserted polyfil. my 2 monotubs are inside of my closet and were not getting much air movement at all. so today i went and bought a small fan, set it on low, and this fan only indirectly provided air movement to the monotubs (its not blowing directly on them). this fan will be on the same 12/12 timer as my 4', 6500K 2-bulb fixture.
can anyone see anything that i should be doing differently? is all the freakin' moisture normal? is it ok to have the small fan indirectly providing fresh air?
in my noobie rookie-to-bulk opinion, i think that the addition of the small fan to my closet today will help increase FAE, and thus get some evaporation, and thus hopefully get some pins.
so, i told you what i've done, you see my pics below... given that today is Day 21 and i dont have any pins (except for 1 tiny one), have i screwed something up? or might the addition of increased FAE (via the little fan) translate to pins in the coming week?
any insight would be greatly appreciated.

doc -
tnx for the reply. really - monotubs dont work in the closet? im all ears! what do you propose? should i have the monotubs inside a room next to a window receiving indirect sunlight?

Thats a pretty decent sized closet from the first pic?
You ever leave the door(s) open? A fan would work strategically placed somewhere in the room. Kinda risky, fans are notorious for drying out substrates.

The original tek stated you needed to have an oscillating fan on a timer, not pointed at the tubs. No way to get good airflow in a closet unless you pull the polyfil out, I'd say. So a shelf by a window would be be better. And/or try something with more airflow.

yeah, its a walk-in closet. i gotta tell ya, my substrates could use some drying out! they're freakin wet; although the substrate field tested OK when i started. im gonna take doc's advise and fan more.

Maybe that would work, open the door and have the fan out in the room, try it.

Due to space and exposure issues, I'm trying this very thing with a SGFC and a closet slightly open with an oscillating fan in the room outside. It has taken a little adjusting and what not, but I seem to be getting it dialed in. Not ideal, but have to make due for the time being.

ok so, as of today, i have a fan blowing inside my walk-in closet, and just now i removed about 1/2 to 2/3 of the polyfil in each hole. there's now very loose polyfil in each.
i've really gotta try to make this work in my closet because there's a little too much traffic in my home. i.e. - i'd be uncomfortable having my monotubs sitting out in a room.
more important to me is that i understand what im doing. even if these 2 particular monotubs produce shitty results, at least i'll know better next time coz im gonna keep doing this till i get it right. everything up to this point went great! now i just gotta revamp my FAE this time and going forward.

right. the fan is plugged into the same 12/12 timer as my light (the timer has 2 outlets).

That's going to ruin your tubs. Try maybe 15 mins every 2 or 3 hours.

got it. i'll do 15 minutes every 2 hours for now. if it seems to be too much, i'll cut back to 15 minutes every 3 or 4 hours.
