I'd vote for him

Former Congressional Candidate Arrested in LSD Sting
Abel Tomlinson, a 31-year-old political activist and former candidate for public office, faces charges of delivery of marijuana, delivery of LSD and possession of drug paraphernalia after being arrested on Tuesday.
Authorities say he was booked into the Washington County Detention Center after a 9 month investigation into marijuana and LSD trafficking in Northwest Arkansas.
A Sept. 5 hearing has been set for Tomlinson in Circuit Court.
The local Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force utilized a confidential informant who bought marijuana and LSD from Tomlinson, according to a preliminary arrest report.
Law enforcement recorded the meetings and searched Tomlinson’s home in Fayetteville, finding 300 plastic baggies, three grams of marijuana and other substances that were sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for drug analysis, the report states.
Tomlinson ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in 2008 and for the state House in 2010. He also was an organizer of Occupy movements in Northwest Arkansas.

Clearly he was going to package it all up at 10 mg a bag.

This brings a political thought to my head....
I have always liked the "message" behind the occupy movement (large financial institutions being the fault of so many fiscal problems across the country), but I am consistently pissed that they don't actually do anything. I live in a large industrial area with a solid background in labor / union movements... its important around here. I saw (as I went down to the occupy areas myself) many talking about this as some sort of "labor" movement....except they represented no labor, no workforce, nothing like the labor movements of the past. So that pisses me off; when a bunch of people with no jobs protest it means a lot less than when a factory full of workers walks out on the job, causing their employers problems (just so you can see my gripe). The latter leads to change, the former.... not so much.
BUT, the most important gripe; why the fuck could they not be like the tea party? Those clowns got up, yelled and screamed, and look at them now; 60 representatives in the house are "tea party" candidates. I have WISHED, HOPED even, that we would see SOME people "step up" as "occupy" politicians; put that energy into something that has an effect on the political process (which is so typical stale, aka, goes fucking nowhere back and fourth).
And here, we have one... and he gets caught selling drugs. Of course I hate the fact that anyone has to do time for having such (as I see them) innocent substances, even transporting... but couldn't this guy maybe stay away from selling drugs?! Could he not have avoided now being taken out of the political process? God dammit!

300 bags and 3 grams. He probably had 300 plastic bags in the box in a drawer and a bag with 3 grams in it. Fail.

I have, in the past, been in possession of a few grams next to many many many small baggies.
I am not and was not a drug dealer.
Is that kind of thing common? Not entirely. But it does happen. There are lots of reasons, unlrelated to selling drugs, that I had that many small baggies.
This guy was a target.
Wonder what his politics were like....

Not sure but I'd guess someone with a lot of power was scared of his ideas. Why else would they use so much time and man power to ruin this guy?

Man as soon as I saw the baggies thing, I thought it was just a box of sandwich bags. I make sandwiches for lunch almost every day, I am always in possession of sandwich bags. One doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the other. crazy drug war logic!

Not saying that having small baggies means you're a dealer, but cops do give that charge pretty often to people that are caught with multiple baggies, whether they were actually dealing or not. It's pretty melodramatic and presumptuous to suggest that an establishment conspiracy plotted to take him out because they didn't like what he preached.
Also in the article it clearly says that an undercover bought drugs from him, so that is pretty good reason to believe that he meant to sell what he was caught with.

these fuckers around here are ReALLy into busting people who cause no harm. Fucking ridiculous. This dude is a pretty cool cat, not afraid to speak his views. The baggies thing will go away, it's just a police scare tactic here.
The most absolutely fucked up part of this is that he will likely receive more time than a child molester. No joke. Sexual indecency with a child in AR is a CLASS D FELONY, 0-6 years.... I know this because there's about 3 of them in every newspaper every day here. Really fucked up. This guy promoted local gardening and fun, and he's a "criminal" poor dude.
Much Love and Luck to you abel, too bad you can't read this.

I know, man. Its these bible belt counties. A friend got busted passing through a small bible belt county, allegedly in possession of some shrooms and a little weed. Got a class B felony, $50,000 bail. A guy in the same county who raped a minor got $35,000 bail and THEN got that reduced. Now tell me thats not some bullshit. Poor bastard. I hope he has a good lawyer and gets that reduced.
