I want to go hunting tomorrow morning but i do not know if they are in season, my Edible mushrooms of Illinois book says they are in season may through june but i have read on the internet people are finding them in july and some in September. So are they in season, what is your luck in august in Northern Illinois. Any reliable info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

They grow well here in Missouri between June and September. If it rains. I doubt you guys up there have been getting much more than us. But if you have they may be out. I gave up looking for wilds until it starts raining on a regular basis again.
