Looking for a drag and drop playlist thing
    #16661255 - 08/07/12 05:28 PM (10 months, 6 days ago)

First I'll just say I think all the music players out their kind of suck for the date, winamp is okay with its neat visualizations but I find like all the other players it has more than I need.  Browsing through MP3 tags doesn't work for me so I pretty much quit using it.

Browsing/searching through windows folders is the quickest way I can find songs and then I drag them into traktor.  I find traktors file browser pretty usless though, it doesn't save my history if I close and creating playlist isn't super easy.

I guess I'm looking for a light piece of software that I can drop files in a playlist in and then drag them from there to traktor.  So like a new button, a save and browse is what I need.  I know lotso programs like winamp do this but they also make me rage.

Anyways I'm looking for something like this,  If anyone can find anything thing please post +5:wink:

Have a look at foobar2000 it's pretty lightweight and should have all the features you need.

Are you looking for just a media player or DJ software?

Winamp does all that stuff...

Green box is where all kinds of stuff can be done.
Yellow box is the current open pain where you can search [cyan box] play entire artist discogs, single albums, single songs, or the entire library.
Red box is where all the playlists are stored
Pink box (among other places) is where you go to save playlists.

Winamp does save the last session but unsaved playlists are lost once you change the playlist.

Winamp has a plethora of skins, some of which fuck up functionality, but unless you're looking to splice together songs using traktor + playlists winamp should do everything you need.

Ok, thanks for that.  I'm a long time winamp user but never really liked the idea of playlists.  that might actually work alright afterall.

And the milkdrop visualizations are the nicest looking public one vishual I seen, Iv'e been needing to get winamp again for my trance station.

I need to figure out how to do awesome visuals for traktor tho so I can perform live in front of living room tv .

Does tractor make visuals or something?  I thought it was some kind of DJ software.

You can make your own visuals using milkdrop within Winamp too.
