Lol I'm fruiting my very 1st cake and there was one pin that came very early and is WAY bigger than the rest. ::Microcosm:: ..The mycelium is very smart and makes a bunch of standards and 1 extra large entity for the added safety of extra spores. Something like that. Or nothing like that. Lol. Who knows..

i went out and harvested as i didnt want to be picking them in broad day light. the veils had broken too so even though potency difference is minimul i like the look when the caps are still umbrella like

and the weight

wow!!! i did not expect that! 47.8 so id say 4.5 dry ..... now i have a low tolerance so i have only gone over 3.5 once and probably wont ever again. my favorite dose that gets me to lvl 3 and sometime 4 (potency depending) is 2.8 . so i guess me and a friend get to go on an adventure!!! to bad i couldnt gobble the big guy down tonight:crazy: but meh itll be worth waiting

i accedntly took 3 primordia with the big guy should of cut but it was a snatch and grab, its one thing takeing pictures of some random mushrooms outside but actually takeing them is possesion:shrug:. im sure the next flush will start and theres still a big(er) pin left to mature over tommorrow

thanks for following this thread yall.

That'll be exciting.  Congrats!

Ive had my best results outdoors from patches that are more like 2 feet by 2 feet and 6 inches deep (in a pile not in a hole).

Im telling you.. if you really want to get awesome results outdoors, then you also need to make somewhat of a humidity tent.

Another major tip when growing outdoors is that you can break the rules regarding moisture "on the substrate and mushrooms"... as long as you have running water flowing over the sub (more like dripping down and then trickling across) your mycelium will thrive... heat is the number one killer of outdoor grows IME.  Rollypollies, slugs, and beatles are the second biggest threat... if you get those too bad then you just better hope you have a lot of mycelium.
