I'm greedy enough to take the 1mil instantly and for certain, but not greedy enough to care about the 100 million I could win.
If I picked the 1mil, and found out if I pressed the button I would have won 100mil, I wouldn't care.
I could live a satisfying life on 1mil. I'd buy a 200grand house, and 80 grand car, and live in a small town. Use the rest for property taxes/insurance/food/bills.

Money doesn't make that much of an impact on me. I live in a shitty apartment, I don't own a car right now, and most likely never will. I make enough money to take care of my daughter, and pay all my bills.
After a long day of work, I come home, and my apartment doesn't seem so shitty.
I don't care that I don't have a car, because I work 10 minutes by foot away from my apartment.
My wife inherited 100,000$ when her dad died, and she gave me 2,000$ I literally had no idea what to do with it. So I saved it in my safe under the bed. And spent it all on shit for my daughter. My wife bought a car, and furnished our apartment.
I'm wicked content with a million. Considering I will probably never even make a million my entire life. I'm cool with just a million.
Some people are super rich, some aren't. I don't envy the super rich.

Well, I don't know much about what federal takes out, but I know New York takes .12%
(that was the case when my wife got her 100,000)
and .12% out of 1mil is only a loss of 120,000$
I could live with that.

1 million dollar isn't a lot of money at all.
For a regular 9-5 guy with no entrepreneurial spirit, one million dollars can bump his annual salry from 50k to 80k a year. Which just bumps him up to the higher-middle class (that is if he doesn't do like 99% of the people would do and spend the capital immediately instead of waiting a year for the interest to come in). You can't even retire with a million
Now 100 million dollars. That's pretty much anything you can dream of. After tax, with like 3% interest, thats like 1.5 million disposable income per year... That's a new house, new ferrari, every piece of furniture you can dream of, maybe a boat a few ATV's etc... And next year, you will get another 1.5 mil...
(a 3% interest rate was used for this example, which is very conservative)
