I was practicing making keys and made the following. I figured I would share it.
Key to West Coast Psilocybe sections
1 a) Spores thin walled---------------------------------------------------------Section Singeriana 1 b) Spores thick walled------------------------------------------------------------------------See 2
2a) Spores asymmetric in side view------------------------------------------Section Aztecorum 2b) Spores not asymmetric in side view-----------------------------------------------------See 3
3a) Spores rhomboid or subrhomboid in face view---------------------------Section Stuntzae 3b) Spores not as above----------------------------------------------------Section Semilanceatae
West Coast Psilocybe species in the section Aztecorum The only Psilocybe from the West Coast that is in the section Aztecorum is Psilocybe baeocystis.
Key to West Coast Psilocybe species in the section Semilanceatae 1 a) Persistent membranous annulus-------------------------------------------Psilocybe fimetaria 1 b) No persistent membranous annulus--------------------------------------------------------See 2
2 a) Pleurocystidia present-----------------------------------------------------------------------See 3 2 b) Pleurocystidia unkomon or absent---------------------------------------------------------See 5
3 a) Cap undulating in maturity----------------------------------------------Psilocybe cyanescens 3 b) Cap not undulating in maturity-------------------------------------------------------------See 4
4 a) Stem 9-20cm in maturity-------------------------------------------------Psilocybe azurescens 4 b) Stem less than 9-20cm in maturity----------------------------------Psilocybe cyanofriscosa
5 a) Grows directly on manure-----------------------------------------------------Psilocybe sierrae 5 b) Does not grow directly on manure---------------------------------------------------------See 6
6 a) Cap acutely umbonate--------------------------------------------------Psilocybe semilanceata 6 b) Cap not acutely umbonate------------------------------------------------------------------See 7
7 a) Spores are 12-15 by 7-9---------------------------------------------Psilocybe Liniformans 7 b) Spores not as above--------------------------------------------------------------------------See 8
8 a) Cheilocystidia with forking neck present-------------------------Psilocybe cyanofibrillosa 8 b) Cheilocystidia not as above-----------------------------------------------------------------See 9
9 a) Cheilocystidia 17-36 by 4-8 -----------------------------------------Psilocybe pelliculosa 9 b) Cheilocystidia not as above---------------------------------------------------------------See 10 10 a) Spores are 6-10 by 4-6--------------------------------------------------Psilocybe silvatica 10 b) Spores are 10-12 by 5-8 -----------------------------------------------Psilocybe strictipes
Key to West Coast Psilocybe species in the section Singeriana The only Psilocybe from the West Coast that is in the section Singeriana is Psilocybe washingtonensis. Psilocybe washingtonensis is not known to contain psilocybin. It has been suggested that Psilocybe washingtonensis may contain psilocybin but I find this unlikely due to the fact that other Psilocybe in the section Singeriana do not.
Key to West Coast Psilocybe species in the section Stuntzae No pleurocystidia present-------------------------------------------------------Psilocybe stuntzii Pleurocystidia present-----------------------------------------------Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata

I thought Psilocybe cyanescens had it's own section, but you're right - it now falls under Semilanceatae. Wikipedia has been updated to reflect this.

Yeah it used to be classified under a different section but things are constantly being switched around.

When was this? I believe that it sometimes must be quite frustrating to be a professional mycologist. Imagine you spent a number of years writing new papers on a certain clade and suddenly someone from across the Atlantic turns the coin...
Thanks for sharing your key, anyway!

I like this approach, including cheilocystidia size and microscopic features immediately in the identification key.
Keep going with it!
