I was clearing out weeds and destroying all kinds of wasp nests in a friends yard and found this thang. Check out that nearly 1 inch long hypodermic needle looking stinger(?)

Isn't that a cricket? I've never known crickets to have stingers...or else I would have been stung many times by now.

Well thats what i originally thought, i found it after moving a tire out of the way. It was bouncing on the ground. I had gloves on so i punched it into submission and took a better look at it.

Good job on killing something for such a stupid reason...
And yes, its a harmless cricket, you didn't to smash it or use gloves to id it.

Yeah brah, I'm sorry but that is kind of evil. How would you like if a big ol' giant came and squashed you, then tried to justify by saying your life had no significant value?

Those "stingers" are actually what the female uses to lay eggs.
Saw it on Dirty Jobs.
