What about a Daily Q&A? 2

Seems like we have a number of people who started grows at the same time. It's actually pretty common really, you'll get a batch of people who join all at once, because of whatever reason. So several people shoot up cakes on the same weekend. Later, they need to birth and fruit these cakes. And move on jars, while other people start their first cakes in another wave of cultivation.
Yesterday the topic was lids. We have a number of growers about to transition from cakes to grains, and we lids were on everyone's mind. Lots of great information and discussion was posted, but it's all spread across a half dozen threads. Seems like it might be easier to have one thread for the days mundane questions, so people can show off their grows without a lot of distractions.
What do you think?

Not a bad idea. I think keeping the thread organized could be problematic though if it gets bombed with questions in a short period of time.

I think this is a very good idea, I like this Board a lot, but it's often a bit unorganized, so I think this thread would be great!
And if there are enough people who answer questions it is no problem if there is asked a lot.

Well, ok. What's on people's minds today? I know that one perennial topic is increasing yield. Another involves potency. Newbs especially want to grow the Most Potent Shrooms Evar!
Anybody feel like answering either of those preemptively?

Can always break off separate topics into their own threads as needed.

Aright, I'll ask. I just put together a monotub last night. Used RR's poo recipe and 5qts of WBS. To keep it simple, aside from proper hydration and and FAE... what can I do, if anything, to get the best yield possible once I introduce fruiting? (this is all assuming I didn't fuck it up and will have mushroom mycelium and not evil yogurt in that tub in ten days) Thanks in advance!

Aside from proper hydration and and FAE, the next most important factors would be light and leaving it alone, imho. After that, genetics comes into play, and if you had a genetic isolate you could fine tune the substrate.
But light is next after air and water.
Next after that of course is earth, or more specifically, gypsum.

I love this thread, I've got a lot of questions
But I posted them in AMU Q&A: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/14297019/fpart/1/vc/1
Should I repost them here? Not sure what the difference between these Q&A is? Which one to use hah

Oh, this is a good one. And the grain makes a difference, rye is better than WBS, either of those is better than popcorn.
(AMU is a bunch of good cultivators, I'm sure you'll get good info from them)

That would Rock,
You should put together a little talk show dealio.
Choose a topic: Lids
Gather a bunch of questions: 20 30, whatever
Answer them: Answer the questions recording your voice like a podcast, but not a podcast.
Post it on one of these pages but at the end add your own tweo cents in plus anyone else maybe..
That would be cool. Also, a shit ton of work.
So, yeah, maybe back to topic of the day. Woot!

And we're very, very pissed off."

Is it possible to PC grain too long during sterilisation? Because we don't have as good Pressure cookers here as you do in U.S. And also because you have to adjust timing depending how many jars you put inside?
iirc it's possible to do it too long time while PCing honey+water in a small jar that you need for LC.. So it sounds really hard to know what time you need so it's not too short time inside. I know that the honey+water becomes a lot darker if too long time at least.
I read that with popcorn it's best to innoc with mycelium instead of spores.. Is it just like this for popcorn or same with WBS? Reason spores aren't ideal for popcorn is because it's not good place for the spores to grow but mycelium can quickly find the cracks on the corns and spread.
Cheers!

I'd avoid popcorn at all costs, getting the moisture content right for it is a pain in the ass and even if it works the results are sub-par. You're just going to have to fool around with your PC a lot it sounds like. You can definitely over sterilize them and lose your moisture but like I said you'll have to work on it to figure out your water levels and how long to sterilize for.
