Places to camp in Oregon?

I am going minimal camping in a couple weeks.
A friend and I are looking for a place to go that is just into the wilderness, no houses, no "set-up" camps, just forest, but I have no idea where "owned" land is and how it is all set up.
Any ideas?
We are most likely going to fast and meditate for a few days and want to completely let go of daily routine for a weekend.

I have asked friends as well, as I get info I could share if others have interest in such things.
This is a map of National forest plots:

I would say moderate, but not advanced, I def have a lot to learn. Although I have lived in Oregon all my life, I have hiked most of the gorge, and I am an experienced camper.
Carrying in, and living as minimal as possible is a fairly new thing to me.
We will be traveling in a lexus of all things, so we will def be backpacking in for sure.
I would say I resonate with the forest pretty well and feel very comfortable in it. I can find my way around trees 5x better than city streets.
(ugh such a headache for me)

Its awesome to go minimalist man you should have a great experience. I recommend becoming familiar with wherever you do choose to explore and bringing some protein just in case something happens. And peruse the great outdoors forum there's some great info in there.

My advice is to just keep going north, eventually you will get to this awesome place called B.C. where there are camping places everywhere.

You know it. Been drinking lots of oolong teas, like Tung Ting, TGY, Bai Hao, Da Hong Pao and Fenghuang Dan Cong. Also been having the occasional cup of western style black tea, and some nice white teas as well.
Whats been in your cup lately?

Friend brought back low quality CTC black tea from england which has been my breakfast tea, but has too much caffeine for me lol.
I found a half decent puerh brick for killer cheap at a lil mom and pop chinese storefront.
Most common would be some chai though, been on a long chai kick. I feel the want to switch back to greens/oolongs/matcha for a while though.

Well how far are you willing to drive? How far of a hike are you willing to make it? I know of quite a few places that are hike in around the Portland area. How wild you want to get depends on how far away from Portland you want to go. It's pretty hard to get completely away from everyone else these days.

Silver King Lake would be one recommendation. Not too rigorous of a hike to get there, but long enough to deter most people. I stayed there for a week and only saw a total of 5-6 people. Only 1 campground there though so ya gotta get up there early to make sure you snag that spot. The trailhead for it is at Bagby Hotsprings, so on the way back you can get a nice soak before heading back to town.

That narrows it down. So where on the way to Hood River, there are quite a few places out there to hike/backpack.
