Beautiful photos, Thinker. I've been coming back to your threads quite often lately, just to look at the pics...like I do with Mr Zimmers.

I have friend who lives near Pittsfield.  Are you anywhere nearby?

Superb photography, Thinker! Some of your best work, well ever!:hatsoff:

Your purple Cortinarius may be C. azureus or something similar.

Why the "Leotia lubrica/atrovirens" label? Are you suggesting they may be the same species? I think I've heard that before. Otherwise, these aren't nearly dark green enough for me to call them L. atrovirens.

they are awesome, taste a little bit like chants but definitely different, id say equally good. both are in the Cantharellaceae family

i dont know, i think some work needs to be done. i do think it's weird how Leotia lubrica/atrovirens/viscosa all pop up at the same time and often in very close vicinity..

i appreciate the kind words everyone

Yeah I've noticed this. I've also seen the heads on L.lubrica turn dark from infection giving them the appearance of L. viscosa. Maybe that's all viscosa or atrovirens really are.

Similar to how C. albipes and G. lateritia always seem to come up together?

The Ramaria pic is beautiful and beautifully composed.
