Hey everyone im new here but rest assured, i have done ALOT of reading and spent alot of time on your website. I just got into the hobby and my first grow is going extremely well and fluid just as i hoped it would go (thanks to a lot of you fine people) but i just have one area of concern so far...
I know im not supposed to peek at my monotub but i couldnt resist especially because this is my first time. I just want some reassurance that everything is going/looking good for me so far. If anything looks like contams please let me know. I appreciate all the help in advanced and im happy to be aboard!

I see no contamination. 
What did you use for spawn and substrate, and how much? I'm going to guess BRF cakes to coir.
How long has this tub been colonizing for?
What strain?
If you know you shouldn't be peaking, then why are you? Do you WANT contamination that we can identify for you? Patience is a virtue that ranks right up there with sterile technique.

1. Welcome
2. That is a shitty pic and people hate shitty pics.
3. I can not see any contamination but that does not mean there is none, though I suspect at this point there is none.
4. Dont open the lid to your tub while it is colonizing/consolidating, you can cause early pinning and cause the mycelium to halt growth through the substrate.
5. If you have done A LOT of reading then you should know the basics, dont deviate from the teks, the steps and instructions are not suggestions, they should be followed to the T in order to make sure everything goes as planned..

Im using Damion5050s tek and i spawned 6 half pint BRF cakes to that. I was going to originally use the PF Tek with a SGFC but i read more about Coir and figured that was more efficient. The tub has been colonizing for 6 days so far. This is my first spawn run with this Tek and if all goes well, i already have more jars to start another. Ill have to look into WBS after these jars are spent. And i promise no more peeking!

When you peak, it releases the built op CO2. CO2 is beneficial during the colonizing stage.
Another problem with peaking is it introduces FAE in the form of oxygen. FAE is a major pinning trigger. You don't want the mycelium to exit colonization mode and enter fruiting mode prematurely.
If you must peak, don't. Just don't. You have a clear tub, and although taking a picture through a clear tub is damn near impossible, you had no green or any cause for concern. You were just being a worrier, which I can completely relate to. I stressed constantly when I first started.
Keep it closed up for another 7 days and then fruit.

Also, I could tell you used BRF cakes as spawn because of the colonization patterns being blotchy. Next time make sure to crush your cakes more. More pieces of cakes means more inoculation points. More inoculation points mean faster and more even colonization.

Ill keep that in mind for my next tub which im starting tonight. I have a quick question about the colonizing though. I should expect the entire substrate to be white just like the cakes before i fruit right? Or is it a matter of waiting until i think the center is colonized to fruit? Thanks for all you're help too. I needed the constructive criticism.

If you can look on all sides of the tub you will be able to see if there are any spots left to be colonized.. After I notice all sides are colonized I give it another day or two just 2 be sure about the inside... After that you're good to go..

Perfect thanks. I have to get the polyfill thing down. Im always unsure about how much to stuff in the holes while colonizing. some say extra tight and some say kind of loose... confusing.

Just watch your humidity level and for signs of Low/High FAE and you will be able to pin down how much polyfil you need..

So you think that taping the holes is more beneficial to the colonization? i read on a couple threads that polyfill promotes CO2 and humidity and limits FAE. Just to clarify, heres how my tub is set up:
Two 1" holes on all 4 sides of the tub stuffed with polyfill.
Two 1/4 inch holes on all 4 sides of the tub taped off.
Regular tub lid on top and everything stuffed in a black trash bag that is tied off. I know its out dated but i have fans running constantly in my house and i figured the bag would block any FAE if there was any. My plan when fruiting comes is to take the tape off of all the 1/4 holes, loosen the polyfill, replace the lid with plastic wrap (my lid is not see through) and introduce 6500k CFL to the tub. What do you guys think?

Polyfil combined with the design of the monotub will promote FAE, not limit it.
Tape the holes next time.

I might as well tape them now then. Im only 7 days into colonization. Just a quick swap from polyfill to tape.
