Probably a mold. Can you take a clear picture?

all the research i have done says that i could be overmoisterization of berries. i dont have too much humidity in my jars, but i did soak my berries for 26hours or so, alot of them started to germ. but then again i did leave them out to dry overnight.
another thing i read was it could be to warm. i have heat pad with all my jars resting on it and the thermom a inch or so above mat, my mat is set at 85deg.
I'll have a pic up soon...
thanks. DHalloNachoRida

Looks contaminated with bacteria, maybe mold. I can't tell for sure but it doesn't look healthy.
Why do you have your jars on a heating pad?

i live in a cold basement, i put them in a tote on a heating pad so they can stay close to 86 degrees.

86 degress F for colonizing jars is outdated information. That is too hot. These hot temperatures stop favoring mushroom mycelium growth and start favoring thermophilic mold and bacteria growth.
What is the temperature of your basement?
I colonize my jars anywhere between 68 degrees F to 80 degrees F depending on the season.

Your welcome. Have you considered getting a space heater for the room?
