I moved to Austin, Texas. I'm a conservative libertarian republican christ lover and gun nut etc.... but I'll admit, Austin has an intriguing vibe to it. It's VERY liberal, unlike the majority of Texas. Music and art are some of the biggest things in Austin. They have music festivals and such, also computeres and technology are big money makers in this city. Rent prices are iffy depending on the part of town though. It's a university town, lots of college students. Some areas of the city you will pay $600-800 for studio apts. but in other areas you can pay $700 or less for a one bedroom house. That's what i did, $650 rent for a one br house with me and my roomate but it's in east austin and there are gang signs carved into the pavement etc...  HOWEVER it's not nearly as bad as Kansas City which is where we came from. In fact, people are very nice in the neigboorhood. They will mind their own business and we've gotten no trouble from anyone. The neigboors are actually fun to hang out with if you enjoy blazing etc...
