This seems like some shit a 12 year old would do to "get fucked up", but I see people talking about it? Do you just eat one and then it makes you drowsy or something?
I don't get it. To me this seems akin to popping a bunch of advils for an opiate feeling. like wtf

The first time I took one, I thought I was on a plane with Peter Pan. Then when I started getting prescriptions for them, few years ago, I would forget I had taken one, and then I'd take 3 more.
It was just a very weird feeling. I'd never take that shit again lol

Ambien has been known to cause hallucinations (either hypnagogic hallucinaitons while falling asleep or in general when taken in high doses) as well as sleepwalking/behavior and other weird stuff which is not associated with the effects of benzos/typical sedatives. Im not completely certain but i believe i heard somewhere that the GABAnergic hallucinations brought on my Ambien are somewhat similar to those caused by Amanita muscaria, at least a lot more so than other pharmaceutical sedatives. I've never tried Ambien myself so i dont actually know how it is though.

out of the couple times i've taken it, it almost feels like low doses of ketamine. you know, double vision, the 'wobbles'. personally, i don't really like it. soo in short, i'll stick to my ketamine.

Ambien (though used occasionally To treat seizures), overdoses have also been known to cause seizures. I don't really get why people would try to get high off something like that.

Oh yeah, and lots of people do it.
People here snort it. Then, the job of staying awake sets in. Once you get that on lock, I've heard you start tripping out pretty hard. I got no desire to try it though.

I've never had hallucinations from ambien, but it feels a lot like what I wish benzos did to me. I'd eat that shit like crazy back in the day because it made me feel so relaxed and dopey.

Ambien is easily one of my favorite pharmaceuticals.
10-20mg throw in a shot or two of vodka, and head out to see a movie.
I can feel it kick in, as if a translucent curtain has dropped down over my eyes and the world has become some how different.
Someone earlier said it reminds them a little of ketamine, and I would agree. Like 1/10th the effects of ketamine with some benzo chill thrown in for good measure. It can be very dissociative, things get confusing, but extremely fun in their strangeness. It is easy to want to re-dose later on in the evening, and that can be dangerous as you can suffer from black outs similar to taking too many benzos, next thing you know you've eatin 4+ of the little fuckers. I've woken up to 5 different half eaten bowls of captain crunch around the house, my entire left arm from finger tip to elbow colored with black sharpie, and other weird stuff. I have never had full blown hallucinations even when taking doses up to 100mg, and I've been taking zolpidem for recreational purposes since I was 15. I have on many occasions succumbed to the amnesiac effects how ever, and have woken to no recollection of what tend to be very eventful evenings.

Yeah it's a pretty shitty high honestly. And pretty stupid, too. I did it once though a few months back because I was on probation, but have a prescription for it. You're supposed to take 10mg to go to sleep, I took 40.
At the time I was staying in a dorm building at my college and almost everyone had left for the summer except for me and a couple RA's.
I took them around 4-5 am when all the power shut down and the halls were dark except for the dull red glow of the exit signs, and went running around butt-naked through the building while tripping

I've heard horror stories of people having waking nightmares from heavily dosing ambien. Personality changes from heavy abuse and all around bad side effects from prolonged use.

I used to take it alot. I remember taking like 5 with a friend at his sisters apartment and we got into a fight broke a nice ass bong with a perculator and last thing I remembered my friend broke his door by running through it. I had like red all around my eye from being punched, can't even remember what we were fight about.
But yea most of the time when I took it I would play gears of war on xbl and get double vision. Which pisst me off. It feels real weird and floaty, when I would smoke on it my vision would get real weird, and I would pass out randomly and wake up 2 minutes later. My opinion it's shitty as fuck.

I would not call it a high at all I've experienced with it and 10-20mg over the normal dose causes light euphoric feeling and if you take a lot you black out and do stuff you don't know your doing so its dangerous.

fuck that. I hate drugs that make you get to that point. I've never blacked out on booze, and have blacked out like once or twice on xanax when i was a lot younger and had no clue wtf I was doing.
Xanax, shit I musta taken like 4mg when i was 15, 16. That's a lot. And for some reason, xanax fucks me up beyond belief without feeling the slightest bit fucked up. So I'm like 15 or 16, completely out my mind on xanax, doing the stupidest shit around my house, with my folks home, I have like 1-2 memories of that night, and then woke up in my basement half naked with no recollection of what happened....
Needless to say I don't fuck with those kinda drugs anymore
edit - I'll come out and say it before someone else does, but that was probably one of the dumbest things I've done in my life, period. Not dumb in a dangerous way, just sheer fucking stupidity. In my defense it was before I knew about Erowid hahaha
