My first trip I took an eight (3.17-3.22g according to my scale) and I tripped balls. Loss of ego. Great experience. As far as dose goes, in my extremely humble opinion i'd say go for a solid eighth (3.5g dried) and see how that goes.
As others have said though... I think it's really super important to not be scared or nervous. More than that, don't take a heavy load if you aren't in a good place in life, eg repressed emotional feelings, break up, heart ache, stress at work, whatever. Me and my GF took the same dose of the same shit and she went to hell (literally), and I was fine. I firmly believe it wasn't because of "mental strength", instead I feel like it was where we were in our lives. You need to make sure you're in a good spot in your life. If you are, then you shouldn't be scared or worried about the dose. Let the medicine show you what it needs to show you.

a large dose for me would be 7+ grams. I have eaten a half o in a 2 hour timespan and that was 12hrs of mindfuck.
right now it would be an 1/8 minimum

Only did it once. I was helping out a girl I was seeing at the time get settled for school out of town. We decided to trip seeing she had a week before school started. I ate 1/4 to start and after 45 min didn't really feel anything.

I went to get a beer because i thought I got ripped off with some weak ass shrooms.
I don't know if the alcohol became some sort of catalyst but I went from sober to tripping face in a matter of minutes.
I got the sensation of falling for hours and couldn't string together a coherent sentence.
Cold sweats and restlessness for at least 3 hours, then the breakthrough. I had control of dreams and was able to shut my eyes and contemplate the mysteries of the universe. it was very profound and deep. i found myself crying multiple times from sheer ecstasy.
The trips would come in waves and the warm sensations were very comforting
Only did that much once...

probly more to do with your metabolism being off that day? did you have alot to eat before hand?

probly more to do with your metabolism being off that day? did you have alot to eat before hand?
I'm not sure, I know I ate but I doubt it was that much. I really remember feeling warmer with each sip of beer. Kind of like an engine revving up. Then BAM 0-60 in 2 seconds!
i had tripped maybe 10-15 times by then with a 1/4 being normal dose.
I once golfed at 6am after eating an 1/8. Thought it would be zen golf, like playing tiger woods in real life. I could barely hit the ball

you actually made me laugh out loud with the golfing comment... lol. rest of my office just gave me some interesting looks xD
I'd love to try that much one day O.o the next "big dose" for me will be 1/4th... but that'll prolly be a few months down the road. i'm actually about to start experimenting with lower doses... i kinda jumped in on a heavy trip and want to see what the lower levels of it are like

I enjoy lower doses too, chilling with a movie or listening to music.
I'll do 2 gr or so in tea (only way I dose now)
It's enjoyable once you fight off the yawns

In fear of highjacking the thread I'll ask...
Do u find the tea to be much better than just eating em? I find dried shrooms kinda yummy in a weird way.

I prefer tea, only because at least 50% of the time after eating dried or fresh, I get some form of stomach discomfort. Sometimes I'll throw up. With tea (correction, I use kool-aid), I never get stomach discomfort. I'm looking forward to the next tub harvest so I can make tea from freshies for the first time. Gonna make a butt load and then freeze it.

Your going to load your butt with shrooms tea then freeze it??? Haha just kidding! But imagine if some one did something like that? Well obviously you can't freeze liquid in your ass, but what it someone made circular shroom tea ice cubes then stuck them right up their poop shute? I'm gonna say, its probably been done. If not with shrooms, probably acid.

I don't like the taste of shrooms and don't like the gut rot. i find tea will eliminate both of those. I mix mine with rockstar energy drink or juice (cranberry usually)
I like that it comes on quicker (within 5 min) and doesn't leave you groggy the next day.

I take it this isn't an issue as nobody has said anything about it yet but doesn't it depend on what type of shroom you are eating? I only ever have libs as nothing else grows where I live so I can't really comment but surely different shrooms have different potency?

Interesting... I'll have to try it with the tea. Does it increase the potency? i've heard some people who swear it does and others who say it weakens it...
I'm sorry but I aint sticking nothing up the shoot o.O i would imagine that would be fairly cold lol.

Honestly, I don't see how making tea from shrooms would ever increase potency. Decrease? Yeah, that's understandable. But increase? It's just...different.

potency with multispore is a crapshoot anyway. I have never been disappointed with tea. Comes on faster and stronger, but doesn't last as long.

Can't imagine how. I would lean toward alka seltzer or pepto bismal before an antihistamine. For me, it's just important to have an empty stomach.

I like drying, grinding up and encapsulating my shrooms, easy to get down and never fails in terms of potency
