Texas ID please

Habitat: found it growing in mulch around a tree.
Gills: closed so cant see too well but looks gishrey.
Stem:lue yellowish and bruises greeinsh
Spore print color dry so looked greeinsh purpleish

appreciate it! Thought my impossible search for some active shrooms maybe came to end. This is getting frustrating. ha

You're wasting time looking for active in TX during the summer. I won't go as far to say it is impossible, but it is highly unlikely that you will find any in these conditions. Wait until the fall when the temperature drops, that is when cubes like to come out

I have heard that there are active blue staining boletes in papua new guinea.

thanks for info I was under impression that here in Houston that the cubes came out almost all year. we havent been getting alot of rain but it has been raining for a week and mushrooms are everywhere. Havent found a good cow pasture that is secluded to search for cubes.

Cubes are out in force in Florida. I don't see why Texas wouldn't be fruiting near the coast.

Cool thanks, just bought a new piece of land and its pretty interesting what grows there. Found these today. Are these Amanita levistriata?
