Car transmission issue.

06 mitsubishi lancer es.
transmission "slipped" twice yesterday, or what i assume was a slip. after running a bit hard, the transmission revved up higher than what it would normally do before shifting into the next gear.
It was hesitating a few days ago when shifting, and its slipped like this when it was much much younger [40-65k miles], and it isnt all the time either... just when running fast if you catch my drift. She's got 110k miles now.
i bought a can of SeaFoam TransTune, and everywhere ive looked at says it works fantastic in getting the crud out of the tranny.
but after yesterday, I'm wondering if i need serious work in the future, or maybe as just regular maintenance, i might have to use this product: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/ATC-Pro-King-Automatic-Transmission-Rebuild-Kit/_/N-6o2i0?itemIdentifier=329782_0_0_
like i said, it doesnt seem too serious of a slip, but...
thoughts?

I would definitely drain and refill the trans with new fluid check for lots of metal flakes in the old trans oil.

Yes, i'm getting a flush done as soon as i can, along with what has mentioned before.
the fluid is still pink, and the level is fine. highly doubt there'll be a lot of flakes but we'll see.
think i'm going to get a new filter too, but the bitch thing about it is it's mounted horizontally, running parallel to the radiator fan, and the battery is in the way.

Smell the fluid, usually you can tell how bad it is by the smell, if it smells burnt or not.
Could be the torque converter, maybe...
Try a flush and fill, make sure they dont "power flush" it because most places that those shitty machines rotate the fluid backwards through the system, that why you flush without changing the filter. Stupid way of doing shit, find a good trans shop. I have mine dont every 40k miles (one year for me) and I havnt had a trans die on me in 8 years.
Also I use this with every flush. Seems to help maintain older transmissions (150k+ miles)

I wouldnt put it in anything less than that because if your trans pump and clutches are all good then thicking up the the fluid might cause more issues.
Flush your transmissions motherfuckers, every 40k despite what people/books tell you
300k miles on my car, original engine/trans

it looks like the seafoam and lucas oil are two different products...
seafoam should be used to clean out the varnish from all the valves and other moving parts, while lucas oil does what to the transmission?
i could drain out the fluid from the bottom, theres a drain plug, and i've done it before.. i could use the seafoam then drain it out, fill it, new filter, drop the lucas stuff in and be done.
that sound better than just doing the lucas treatment alone?

me personally, i would just drain the trans fluid, and add the lucas oil..
i wouldnt use the seafoam at all..
that shit does more damage in the long run than good.

added the lucas oil. didn't even use the whole bottle like it said. shifts are much smoother. shit works. I'll do a drain in about 10k miles. the local fluid place wants $109 to flush it. rediculous

That's not bad, paid 130$ for my last flush and fill, with filter. Fluid prices have nearly doubled in the last 4 years

i wouldnt suggest your first flush at 110k miles.
just keep on on the servicing/fluid exchanges and you should be good.
