If you strip yourself of what you own, you are left with what you are.
Lets drop it all.
The environment, house, possessions, your clothes.. theres your bodymind, all by itself.
But why stop there? You own your arms and legs but amputees get by without them. Off with your limbs! Burn victims will agree that though its convenient, you don't actually NEED skin to be. Off with your skin! Lungs, guts, internal organs, that just provides you with nutrients and gets you places. Off with the body! Well you dont need a mouth, nose, ears, those are just added extras. Off with them, and the skull is just a structural component so, off with it! Whats left is a disembodied brain.
Off with English, with the Visual Cortex, you dont have eyes, ears and a mouth anyway. Who needs the sense of touch, you dont have a body, lets rip the whole Cerebellum off, you shed your heart and circulation anyway.
As you rip away, you arrive at the core of what you are, a point of awareness, and a bunch of neurons interconnected enough to hold that.
But, carbon/silicon. Your neural net doesnt have to be carbon based, it might as well be silicon.
Now the whole body is shed, not a cell of tissue remains.
Whats left is a snippet of code, the ghost in the machine, the tiny program that encodes that one thing so tiny yet all important, the essence of what you are.
The tiny program that arises in the central nervous system when the 800 megabytes of the human DNA start to unzip in the womb. That bit of data floating in the universe, that can be reduced to ones and zeroes, a string of YES and NO, of LIGHT and DARK, of BEING and NOT BEING. The yin and yang of you.
Ah, ahah! But a neural net is needed to manifest it! But without that neural net, it still is. Fact is fact, code is code.
Your code is hardwired into this type of universe. Without it, no neural net, no you, no code.
So now that we went through all this effort to eliminate all things, we find that we need Everything to be.
You are code of the universe, a direct consequence of the laws of the universe acting on the cosmic constants.
Are you unique? Anyone who ever downloaded something knows that you are and you arent. The code is unique, but an infinite number of copies can be made because code is a fact of the universe, and even when copying techniques may introduce errors, the code of the original is absolute.
You're something specific in a sea of eternal change. Now you're here, now you're not, ah, there you are again!
We are code that is absolute, cannot be corrupted and is eternal.

excellent post! I agree 100% we might as well have fun! Some people are so damn serious that they forget to just be and let go. Have fun along the way. I work with a guy that is sort of like that. I was singing a kids song last night the "do you know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man" song and he gave me a strange look. I asked him if he ever sang that song when he was a kid and he said, "yeah, but then I grew up" in a snide tone meant to say I was a freak for singing it. I just laughed it off and thought what a sad man.
