 Has anyone ACTUALLY ruined mushrooms by drying them too hot?

I know everyone say use low heat and potency can be lost and whatever. But has anyone, ever, dried there mushrooms on the dehydrators "high" setting, eat them, and not get high?

Psilocybin's melting point is 228ºC, and psilocin begins to break down immediately after harvest, due to its instability. So I would say that as long as your dehydrator doesn't reach 228ºC you are fine.

Awesome. Nesco makes a good dehydrator, but it's easy enough to push the temp gauge to the wrong side.
They also don't have an off / on switch, which ia pretty damn annoying for a $60 dehydrator.

I use a dehydrator with heat and have never had them lose noticeable potency.

that heat will destroy potency...the heat that any dehydrator puts out isnt enuf to affect potency

I've never had heat effect my mushrooms potency.
Hell, I've cooked them at way hotter temps than they ever see while drying and still tripped balls.

Damn Damn Damn!!!!
The wives tale comes from the original PFTek. PF talks about cold drying and makes the note that heat breaks down the psilo.
I beleived it and went and built my own cold drying chamber. I could've just put them in my jerky dryer on low!!!!!!!!!
oh well live and learn. Thanks OP for the well worded question.

I also use a food dehydrator and have seen 0 problems.
