"People convince themselves of their own lies, becoming victims of their own inventions as they begin to direct their lives by standards of behavior, ideas, feelings, or instincts which do not correspond to their inner reality. What is truly serious in this matter is that the individual loses all points of reference regarding what comprises truth, and what comprises lies. He becomes used to considering as true only that which is convenient for his personal interests; everything that is in opposition to his self-esteem or in conflict with already established prejudices, he considers false."

Come on man,
The personality type he describes fits 5% of population which still makes 350 million people.
Come on, 350mil reincarnating buddhas? Even one would sound weird.
Why would one who has broken the cycles be reincarnating?

actually self realization happens very easily now because of Sahaja Yoga

I can't answer your last question.

it might have to do with the times and that we're at the end of a Kalpa

You picked the only answer I allowed a possibility for. Kudos.
No cynicism there.

Just careful what you take in as truth, everyone and their mother in law is a fucking buddha these days.

Well that sums me up pretty well in some respects...but I attribute that to a superior intellect, rather than the idea that I'm born with some kind of realisation. To agree to that would mean to accept reincarnation which isn't something I'm going to do right now considering at the moment I consider the concept to be an ultimate shield against death anxiety.

I think part of Buddhism is realising that what you said is correct

I believe Buddha was beyond self realization. I think he achieved God realization.

Being self realized is very easy to achieve in this age.

Self-realization is everywhere. Even the black guy in New Girl occasionally looks at the Self in the camera. It's cool.

There is no end to realization, of any kind, considering all is imagination. The imagination has a personality, is conscious itself, and is set in archeetypal stones that create the evolving forms. Humans are a manifestation of the Creator. You should feel utterly empowered, enthralled, and bewildered to be in a human body. You are of course, in all things, but your role is infinite as a human.

I always thought Self-Realization was the same as God-Realization

It's a much higher achievement. I can't speak of it but I know self realization is just when your Kundalini awakens and you become thoughtless. There's achievements/states  between self realization and God realization.

From The Advent by G De Kalbermatten:

Self Realization: thoughtless awareness, collective consciousness

- next stage: doubtless awareness, communion in collective consciousness

- further stage: complete self realization, mastery of the elements

- yet a further stage: God realization

so who knows how deep Buddha was. I believe he may have just been an incarnation, though.

Hmm, interesting. So then by Self-Realization, they must mean like Soul-Realization? Realization of the Atman/Higher Self?

What is your understanding of God-Realization then?

Yeah exactly. You now identify with your self/spirit and not the mind/body

I have no intellectual conception of God realization as I am still conceptualizing doubtless awareness.

What I understand of that is that once you achieve thoughtlessness there's still doubts about your knowledge of the divine and your divinity, and when you become doubtless all of that is removed. It's when you become a "drop in the ocean".

BTW I think you're the reason I found Sahaja Yoga (if you've ever posted about it last Summer then you probably are; I think I recognize the name). So thank you for mentioning it. Have you been to meditate with them recently (if it was you)?

Hmm, I'll have to look up doubtless awareness. It's probably one of the different levels of absorption I've read about. Not sure what that means exactly...

Haha yeah that was me. I was going for a few months last year, and got something out of it for sure, but wasn't too excited about the teacher. I like the whole idea of your own forgiveness standing in the way of the kundalini rising to the 7th chakra, and how the 7th chakra represents "integration." Felt really inspired by that chart:

Also how your energy can get caught in either the left or right channel, leading, respectively, to the right and left sides of the brain, representing the ego and super-ego. Whereas the correct path is straight up the middle, not paying attention to either the ego or super-ego, and just to allow the kundalini to arise, take you over, and bring you out of the mind and back to the present moment
