 My girlfriend wants to live in KY for the rest of her life

I'll keep this short.
My girlfriend of 3 weeks wants to live in Kentucky the rest of her life because she wants to live close to her family. She sounds pretty determined even though she says she basically hates Kentucky.
I DO NOT want to live in Kentucky after I graduate college. I'd like to go see Colorado, Oregon, and Hawaii. All those states are infinitely more appealing to me in every way.
What the hell is a fella to do? This girl is marriage material!

You've only dated 3 weeks man... and the fact that you find that significant means you are probably pretty young.
People change a lot, and if your relationship gets real you will both make sacrifices for each other. I wouldn't make a huge deal of it, however I would keep it in the back of your mind moving forward.

Seems like everybody is making some very legitimate points. 
Yea I am young...20 years old to be exact. But we have a pretty strong connection. Atleast it feels that way....Maybe the hormones will wear off in a few months.
Kiss makes a good point. If I live in Kentucky the rest of my life I may regret it.
Joe you're right I can't make her live somewhere she doesn't want to be. But perhaps if I take her out there on vacation she'll change her mind.
Hail its not a huge deal now. I'm just worried I'll get too attached to her and then shit will hit the fan when it comes time for me to move.

Well I'd figure it out now before emotions get too attached.
If it were me I'd find someone who has similar interests as I and would also like to travel/possibly live in the places you've mentioned. Anyone who wants to stay in the same town close to home their entire lives never branching out is kind of a coward to me. There's a whole world outside of your comfort zone that she may never be aware of.
That's just my take on it. I'm from a small redneck town on the Oregon coast and sooo many people stay there their entire lives and just rot away. There are generations of people that have never left that town and they are miserable. I refuse! That's why I moved to Florida (about as far away as I could get) to go to college and just experience something new.
And I hate to say it bro but at 3 weeks you're still in the infatuation stage of a relationship where everything is new and fun and exciting. See how you feel after a few years or at least 1 and I think you'll be able to make a better decision.

Thanks Oasis, that really puts it in perspective! I thought I was going to go far with my last girlfriend too, and she ended up cheating on me!
But yeah I guess I should just enjoy our relationship while we have it. Alot can change over 2 years which is when I'll graduate and be free from academic slavery

I guess when you look at my stats it brings to light some things. I've dated about 10 girls and my longest relationship was 2 months. However, she says shes never felt this way about anyone before. Not sure if I should take that with a grain of salt or seriously.

If you think a girl is marriage material after three weeks, you're in for some surprises.
I imagine she's about the same age as you? You both are still figuring out what you really want to do in life, she could change her mind in the future. It's good you're looking ahead and all, but you don't have to get that serious about it that quickly.
I wouldn't make a point of it unless you were packing your bags to go. Just enjoy your time with her right now.

Yeah psychologically speaking I believe that I tend to plan in the future because it is a survival mechanism that was necessary to live back in the olden days.
I am just experiencing "puppy love" right now. Thanks guys for the perspective. Its only been 3 weeks! You're right I shouldn't give up my dreams and live in Kentucky for the rest of my life like a little bitch. I gotta live up my dreams because life's too short to be living sheltered from the rest of the world.
Alas, I feel better... I shouldn't worry so much about this issue...Hell let me get 2 years of this godforsaken college work done first.

Doesn't sound that unusual to me. It sounds like she's young, as has pretty limited life experience. KY is probably all she's ever known.
If you can expose her to some new experiences, perhaps travel a bit, she may be more inclined to realize that there is a whole big world out there.

Dude,get rid of her,or you'll be miserable for the rest of your life!I'm all about representing your home state,but in this case I refuse to! Kentucky is one of the worst States in all of America,and although I was born and lived here form until the age of 19,when I left,and saw other parts of the US,Kentucky couldn't even compare! Now I'm back,and so badly depressed,I don't even want to live!There is no reason to even wake up int he morning living here:-(I also read somewhere that Kentucky is one of the top states for depressed,and miserable people,and it's true!All my family are sick hillbilly's and haven't left the front porch,and they never intend to,and will live here for the rest of their lives.I once talked my two cousins into moving to Phoenix,and they were so scared,and overwhelmed it lasted a couple of days,then they returned back like the pussy's they are!That's also what people in Kentucky do,they just stay put here until they die,and it's sad.I plan on getting out of here soon,and I'll never return!
