In reality awareness is too big to stuff into any one of these boxes, one must choose these boxes, whether it is a conscious decision or not.

IMO either there is no box in the first place or everyone is in a box of some form

Well, maybe it depends on how real you believe the beliefs built around the diamond to be.

Nice point

The box is as imaginary as you believe the residual self-image to be.

Did you know that these sort of realizations can lead to the finer aspects of being? We can choose how we feel for instance, we can choose to feel love instead of anger or frustration.

We can become more in tune with our physical bodies and discover what some call forms of energy. Which is actually realizing that awareness is not fixated to the place that the eyes see, it can transverse the entire body.

I thought OP was on track to something good, just my 2c.

Enlightenment is just recognising yourself, if only for a split second. It is more likely a split-second experience is valid than one existing drawn-out in time.

"I _HAVE_ the state!" - two ideas, I, and ownership, separate from the experience. Can't be valid.

a more valid reaction would be "Wow!", and never speak of it earnestly to anyone, knowing it is only you who can accept or reject it.

I can not be enlightened. I know what it is and understand the mechanism for this very real subjective experience. You however can be enlightened from that perspective which you hold.

Here is your first lesson, there is not a way to know if another is enlightened. For me to say I am enlightened would lead you to belief while I would be condoning for you to believe that for whatever reason.

Do I still have a will? Yeah. In my psychotic reliving of childhood I fantasise about killing cops, my brother, children, slamming on the brakes in front of a family car on the highway.

I'm not going to do any of it, but I'm going to make sure karmically, my father cannot handle what comes back his way. It's ALL his fault, and I see him everywhere and want to split him open.

Hello teknix.

What is the difference between qigong and meditation?

How is Kundalini methods practiced, and how does it correlate to a serpent that resides within?

What does MCO stand for?

Meditation is when you sit in a way that feels good, qi gong is when you stand in a way that feels good.

Microcosmic orbit is a Taoist internal alchemy and directly related to the kundalini system, but it is looking from a different angle. Here you See the microcosmic orbit:

And here you see the chakra system:

Hopefully you can see a different look at a similar phenomena.

Meditation is an important part of ever system, including qiqong. Qiqong focus has a different look at the energy system as well and includes meditation, exercise, and focus breathing. Breathing plays a very important role in qiqong and really does have medical benefits due to increasing the oxygen in your blood which translates to better efficiencies of oxidative phosphorylation which synthesis ATP (useable energy for the body). They use abdominal breathing to aid the process because:

Quote:

3. Gases readily diffuse across the mucosa. The direction of diffusion is dictated by the partial pressure of that gas in blood versus luminal contents. For methane and hydrogen, diffusion is always out of the lumen into blood. Nitrogen and CO2 diffuse in either direction, depending on specific conditions within the individual.
http://www.vivo.colostate.edu/hbooks/pathphys/digestion/largegut/flatus.html

It is really just different looks and connotations of similar phenomena.
Some are wrapped in more belief than others which is a more creative approach for some.

What experience do you have with any of these?

Teknix,

I have experience with the general idea of meditation. I am familiar, and have performed, many variations including mantra-repeating and chanting. But I particularly favor the simplest, which is simply sitting, nothing else, focusing on the neutral breath as an anchor.

The reason I inquired about Kundalini and it's correlation to the serpent has to do with my interest in the history of spiritualism and it's correlation to serpents in general, i.e. Kundalini serpent vs. Serpent in Garden of Eden vs. Egyptian's worship of serpents, etc. But this topic is a slight detour, as it deals with historical notions rather than the present now.

Thanks for your replies.
