Its horrible, I love metal so much it alienates my iPod from the rotation in the hippie circle when we're all tripping...

sigh, metalhead psychonaut problems... :hellyeah:

but actually, I know many people think metal is scary and evil, but I've been listening to it so long that regardless of intoxication, this still sounds remarkably beautiful.

I used to be a big metalhead. I still listen to it occasionally, but not for long if I do. I stopped listening to it before I ever tripped, but I doubt I could listen to it now if I were to trip. I generally listened to black metal, or technical death metal, and that shit just wouldn't fly with me on a headfull.

FUCK! It actually made me jump when it came on.:eek: I never liked it while tripping. I really could not do it now. I am into ambient/lounge/techno/etc... while on mushrooms. I have not found real LSD since 2005 at bonaroo. And it was 5 years prior to that that I found some. The last connect I had was in the late 80's-mid 90's. *sigh*

It also matters what metal you present them with because stuff like that requires some pre listening whilst other stuff is more bearable for some people.

Not quite fitting with the whole tech death theme, but definitely an amazing album. I would love to see Sleep if they ever came here, it would be such a smokey and intense show.

I love metal when tripping. Although I get some what most people would called "fucked up" CEV's. I see corpses being impaled on walls and heads with the skin removed stuck on sticks. Not gonna lie its pretty awesome.
