 Dogfish Head... Is it really worth it?

So the other night I accidentally bought a 10$ 12oz beer. World Wide Stout. Now I didn't realize I had bought such an expensive ale because it was mixed in with the rest of my overpriced whole foods shopping bill... But regardless I was a little put off by the price, as I usually am with dogfish head.
I drank it. It was really good, really rich and all but.... It wasn't a 10$ beer. More like a 4, maybe 5$ beer.
This lead me to start checking average prices of dogfish head, and I'm starting to think they're milking the marketing and are fine with their overpriced ales. They ARE good, don't get me wrong, but when we're talking their average ales being 10-14$ for a 4pack, (not even a 6pack), is it really worth it?
What do you guys think?

I really like their stuff, but I usually don't get it because of the price. I'm also a little put off after I was disappointed by the lack of hoppy-ness when I finally got to try their 120-Minute IPA.

Dogfish Head is local for me and it's still pricey. That said, I'm not a fan of their brews in general.

Ive got it a couple times but it's not my favorite and not worth the price imo. But then again, I am one of those people who will drink just about anything.
Killian's is one of my favorite beers. Newcastle is up there too

Well I think when a 12oz bottle is nearly the price of a 750ml blue label Chimay, you know you're crossing some price boundaries... Especially considering dogfishhead is about as comparable to Rogue and Stone and Mammoth and such..

Why not? They've got cheaper noodles, and canned tomatos than Raley's or Smiths. And I'd rather shop there than walmart. I hate the employees equally between all of those places, but whole foods has things the other places don't, like truffle cheese.

WAY overpriced. Some n00bs here like it but they don't know what they're talking about. There are better beers in the price range. Spaten optimator on tap...

Near my home, a large agricultural research center is going to be replaced with a parking lot for Whole Foods. I believe this is the most telling fucking thing I've ever heard.
Just try to find an alternative if you can. Whole Foods is some evil shit. They should be called Asshole Foods.

I've got nothing against you if you find they have good deals, but I strongly encourage you to keep your eyes open for an alternative.
