Yep, my parents live next door to a retired DEA agent. Not one of those shitty US based ones that does small-fry shit though, he was a covert ops type guy that was trying to bring down the cartels in Bogota, Colombia. He was involved in numerous raids and shoot outs with the cartel and has a few battle scars.
Anyways, I'm talking to my mom tonight and she goes "Hey you know that guy next door, the DEA guy?" And I say "yeah, what about him?" Apparently my parents were chilling out on the patio last night and they smelled something weird. They moved closer to the fence and smelled some strong bud and heard the dude and his wife hitting a bong on their back porch.
That my friends, is pretty awesome

He would bust drug dealers and users but hes smoking weed . SMH
Other then that he sounds pretty cool though .

I plan on talking to him the next time I go visit my parents. From what they told me he seems like a badass guy, rides Harleys with his son every weekend, always has a gun on his belt. My mom was asking him if he had a security system installed in his house and he just goes "Darling, I don't need no security system" and winked at my mom, following it up with "I tell you what, you ever have any problems, you call me and I'll be over there in a second." So the dude is armed to the teeth and has close combat training. I'm glad my parents live next to a guy like him because crime in their area has started to pick up now that it's summer.
As far as talking to DEA guys goes, I know several of them in Newark, they have a huge headquarters here and some of them come to a bar I frequent. I've spoken to them before and they really could give a fuck less about the individual user, they're just trying to stop large amounts of drugs from being trafficked and the crime associated with it(at least in this area). People demonize the DEA on this site, but after talking to some of them, they're not after people like us that like to dick around with small amounts of drugs to have fun, they're really out there trying to stop the crime that's associated with the drug trade.

Did you read my post? He was after the South American cartels, not the US drug dealers. He was after the people that behead people in batches and gut their families and hang them from the rafters. That's a good bit different from a drug dealer.

That's not different at all. He's the reason all that shit happened in the first place. American prohibition causes all of those beheadings.
And don't think for one second there aren't people still in jail or dead because of him solely due to weed.
I'm so glad i don't live in New Jersey. I'd move with every red cent I had.

Justifying the actions of the DEA 
I know at the end of the day the day they are just doing their job... but their job is to put people away (both good and bad people) for very long periods of time over drugs.
Drugs don't necessarily breed violence... but when you let a multi billion dollar a year industry remain a black market industry... guess what, violent criminals capitalize on that.
We're getting off topic here but my point is trying to justify his actions is pointless... at the end of the day he sounds like he's just a misguided, spineless, hypocritical piece of shit.

Thats awesome. I kinda wanna join the DEA. It wouldn't even feel wrong taking down big time drug operations. First I join the coast guard though.
I'll either be DEA agent or big time pot grower :/ maybe both  .
