MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Rudy Eugene, the Causeway Cannibal who ate the face off a homeless man he attacked along the MacArthur Causeway, was apparently not high on bath salts or any other exotic street drug at the time of the attack, according to a report released Wednesday by the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner.
The much-anticipated toxicology report released by Medical Examiner Dr. Bruce Hyma found marijuana in Eugene’s system, but no evidence of any other street drugs, alcohol or prescription drugs, or any adulterants found in street drugs. This includes cocaine, LSD, amphetamines (Extasy, Meth and others), phencyclidine (PCP or Angel Dust), heroin, oxycodone, Xanax, synthetic marijuana (Spice), and many other similar compounds.
Hyma’s office also specifically ruled out Bath Salts, a class of synthetic drugs that have been known to cause bizarre behavior and overheating of people who use them, two things that made some believe Eugene’s cannibalistic behavior was to blame on the drugs.
“The department has also sought the assistance of an outside forensic toxicology reference laboratory, which has confirmed the absence of “bath salts,” synthetic marijuana and LSD,” the report said.
“Within the limits of current technology by both laboratories, marijuana is the only drug identified in the body of Mr. Rudy Eugene.”

Does anyone know how scopolamine works in the body? Would it have been easily detected or even tested for?
Scopolamine is one of the most powerful tools to turn a person into whatever you need, a weapon, a distraction, a source of income/goods/sex...
I know nothing about toxicology reports or what entails one. Is it possible that they just didn't test for atropines or am I way off base?

haha no because america i slowly becoming less retarded about the effects of marijuana. even my mom wouldn't believe a story like that if they rearranged it. they've already filled their bath salt agenda so they'll likely leave it at that and not publicize this new report. notice how we're hearing it from the local station and not major networks yet

 Exactly right. The ABSENCE of bath salts and its lack of contribution to this horrific event is not titillating enough to make it into any news story, so the earlier sensationalized propaganda will never get corrected.

Maybe the face eater was starving.Starvation can cause severe psychosis and cannibalism(mass cannibalism in some case like famines and long sieges-like leningrad in WW2).He was not homeless,but had no money.Starvation+drugs(like cannibis,alchol)is really dangerous.U can starve even if overweight-like this guy.Also he may have some disease that kills appitite and cannibis gave him munchies wile in starvation psychosis. Who knows?

I fucking love weed, but for a very very very small amount of people it will drive them nuts. My friend is pretty cooked, he used to do like 300 mg of adderall everyday. One day he wasn't on anything, and had to go shoveling (he did it for work) and I was making canna-oil out of some kind bud I had because I dont smoke anything below grade A weed. Anyways he used to smoke everyday, but it started making him feel nuts. Also, he suffers from bi-polar disorder, manic depression as well as paranoid schizophrenia. He asked me for some of the oil before he went to work, and I ended up giving him what I would estimate was the equivalent of a gram per part of oil. He was shoveling later, high off his ass and started thinking there was a sniper shooting at him, and began moving around and working in quick random motions to dodge the bullets. He eventually ran home at the shock of his employer and asked his dad for one of his guns and ended up falling asleep with a loaded bb pistol next to him.
