arijuana grow found at Mendocino prosecutor's home By GLENDA ANDERSON THE PRESS DEMOCRAT Published: Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 5:59 p.m. Last Modified: Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 7:34 a.m.
A Mendocino County prosecutor is being investigated in connection with a marijuana cultivation operation at his Ukiah-area home, according to law enforcement authorities.
Deputy District Attorney Sergio Fuentes has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, District Attorney's Office spokesman Mike Geniella confirmed Wednesday.
Neither Fuentes nor his attorney could be reached Wednesday for comment.
A search warrant was served Monday at the home Fuentes shares with his mother, said Mendocino County Sheriff's Capt. Kurt Smallcomb.
About 150 marijuana plants were found growing inside the home, he said. The case remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.
Citing employment laws and the pending investigation, officials said additional information is not being released at this time.
Fuentes is one of 13 attorneys in the criminal division, according to the District Attorney's Office website. He is a Ukiah High School graduate who became licensed to practice law in 2009 and had worked for the department's victims-witness section while earning a law degree.
Man I sure do hate corruption. I hope all these people get 20 year+ sentences when this is all over with.

and by "these people", in this case I specifically mean everyone involved with not arresting this individual when this is a clear violation of state law.
There is NO wiggle room here with that number. Mendocino is a 6 mature, 12 immature state.
This motherfucker was breaking the law and isn't in jail.

Anyone else would've already been looking forward to having decades of freedom stolen from them. This is ridiculous, why is our judicial system so corrupt? How do the people of this country let this continue?

prosecutor who throws pot users in jail growing pot with intent to sell needs a taste of his own medicine! Throw him in jail so feel the injustice he gave to other pot users!

Local LEA told Me "Weed will be legal in 5 years". It seems they are admitting defeat nationwide.
in Rhode Island possession up to a Kilo is a 400 fine. In Massachusetts possession with intent to sell under 50 lbs of marijuana is not a felony or a misdemeanor.

The max sentence for marijuana growing in California is 3 years and this was picked up by local LE. This isn't DEA arresting people who are looking at mandatory minimums.

What a crock of shit. Some of the citizens in that area need to take justice into their own hands if none of the prosecutors will do it for them. This is completely unacceptable.

I don't believe anyone should be punished for growing a plant, especially for therapeutic reasons. That being said, this stinks of hypocrisy. Most people would get locked up immediately, loose their job, students loose their privilege to financial aid, BUT this guy gets PAID TIME OFF during a pending investigation. What exactly is left to investigate after a raid? Why does this man get special privileges?

"Why does this man get special privileges" ...seriously Paid leave?? This is way to rediculos he should be stripped of his title and ability to practice law! I would never be saying this if he was just an average citizen but i hope he DOES go to jail and people he put there find him..

He locks people up for years and years Grandfather.
What's being asked for here is justice. American seems to be sorely lacking such.

Love the tone of this thread! Keep it up and maybe we will start to wake up and realize that the people are their own supreme authority! This country needs a good spring cleaning and I am just tickled pink to be in the generation that gets to witness it! Our forefathers would want it that way, and we should honor the blood they were willing to shed for the liberty we have let go of.

I was estimating that time frame.
