Midwest cities get a bad rap, but if you like a bit of grit with your cities they're not so bad. That said, I'm really not that big a fan of Cleveland.

Parts of it yes are pretty cool. We camped at occupy for a month and it was pretty crazy, but I like Oakland. Cleveland is defiantly cool though. I dig it.

He means the "What we think is Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" which I have no respect for. The Rock & Roll hall of fame is a sham that only admits bands that pay enough money. It is like buying a star on the Hollywood walk of fame.

Question.
How does a city in Ohio qualify for being in the midwest?

Ohio is part of the Midwest.
What region did you think it belonged to?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midwestern_United_States While you could geographically argue for a variety of states being considered in the middle-western part of the United States, those are the states that are identified as the Midwest region.
Edit: I always (okay, not always, I've only been aware of it for a few years) like this a bit more http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Nine_Nations_of_North_America#See_also

Are there many areas of Oakland where it's relatively safe to walk around without being heavily armed/in a group with multiple individuals?
Where are these areas? I take it not in East Oakland...

Ohio is part of the Midwest.
What region did you think it belonged to?
Huh...
I don't know. I was thinking east.
I thought the midwest was Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Montana.
I would of put Ohio Mid East, if such a thing exists.
The west starts too far east IMO.

To give you some credit I believe it was named that way based on how the United States was settled... Everything past the original 13 colonies was considered "West" of the coast.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You live in Ohio and you've never heard it referred to as the Midwest? It most definitely is. Calling it East Coast is about as geographically inaccurate as Midwest anyway. It doesn't even touch a state that touches the ocean.

Lol yea I hear ya. I still always thought of it as east coast tho, or eastern just cause its in the eastern time zone and probably cause besides living here I've lived in ny and florida, to me its the east coast. Mid west seems more like it should be Utah and Iowa and shit lol. But I guess its the Midwest
Either way I'm over there somewhere lol.
