 Getting assulted.

So for about 3-4 months, I allowed someone to live in my living room because his mom kicked him out of his house. Over a month and a half ago I told him to start looking for his own place, and he never did. Like 2 weeks ago, I confronted him again about his living situation, and he acted like I yelled at him. The whole time he lived with me, I was polite to him, and treated him like my friend. I let him do damn near whatever the hell he wanted. He invited all his friends over, told me it was his place, sold drugs in my living room, you name it. Zero respect for me or my home.
So I come home last night, and this dude is in my home with his ex-marine brother, and I instantly get thrown into the wall. A lot of yelling, I was thrown the fuck around, kicked in the face, both my wrists are fucked up.. the only reason he stopped beating me was because I pulled a knife on him, then he told me I was lucky to be alive.
The cops filled out a report, and it was apparently only a misdemeanor assault. I don't know if the dude will even be arrested, and he was just in my home, and beat the shit out of me.
What would you do? I would love to let go, but people like that do not deserve to live in this beautiful world.

I'd make use of my gun, if I happen to come home one day and he's there,
shoot him and explain it was self defense because he'd previously assaulted
me I had reason to fear he was going to push it further. cops have a report
that corroborates the story

Kick him out. Change the locks. Buy a gun or a self defense weapon. Keep all his shit that he has in your house.

Does he have a key? Maybe change the locks if so. Is some of his shit still in your place? If so you need to get everything of his out so he has no reason to come back inside. I would personally want to beat someone down, but that is only going to escalate the situation. Be the bigger person and just move forward. Of course if he keeps fucking with you then he will need to be put in his place. Maybe you should have some friends hang out at your place until things blow over

Once you saw he was disrespecting your place you needed to ask him to leave then. Some of these kids are just like this. They bit the hand that feeds and then moves to another one. I feel sorry for these people that live like this. He will get whats coming to him with or without him going to jail. I hope for your sake he does a little time. Maybe it will give him time to himself to think about his shit. Sorry this happened. Don't let this situation harden you. Next time just be more careful with the type of person you decide to help.

Yeah, that's a good plan, I am finding a lawyer today. And he moved out yesterday. Oh and when he left, he stole my bong... 
And he was paying rent, like 100 a month. I was very generous. I honestly can think of no reason for what he did to me. I am bringing my shotgun to my apartment for next time someone fucks with me. And honestly, I tried to kick him out so many times, it was my other roommate who's name is also on the lease that was allowing him to live with me. And I have changed to locks because I tried kicking him out weeks ago.

The cop gave me his address! Haha, so yeah I have put some thought into it. My bong was just one of those little showerhead bubblers, with all the color reversals. The kid is a punk, from all the people I have been talking to, his brother has always fought his fights.
I might make a stop into his work or something and get him fired while I'm at it.

Either that.. or just completely remove yourself from him and just take this as a lesson to never trust anyone immature enough to get kicked out in the first place

It was a $200 piece though. I am slightly upset about that since I only have a shitty pipe now. I hope that he breaks his mom's heart. Lesson learned though, I'm not going out of my way for people that can't be helped.
