For those unaware the game I'm referring to it is called League of Legends.
They have a reporting system in game to try and weed out the bad/immature players. The way bans work is first the reports are run through a team by the company then they are openly displayed in "the tribunal" where you review a few games they were reported for and decide whether to punish...or pardon. They run all reports through a team of workers first of course to see if the report was even justified to begin with.
It just amazes me how aggravated and upset people get over a video game and then proceed to rage like there's no tomorrow.
I'm an avid gamer who plays 5-8 hours a day and is very competitive on the tournament scene. I am not one of those people who loses their shit and rages for 10-15 minutes straight over a video game no matter how dumb my team is.
Just today someone went onto the forums for the video game and called out the top dog in community relations. He basically issued an ultimatum saying "hey, if I deserved the ban so be it but if I can justify my actions you have to unban me".

Here is the post to let the entire community determine whether or not his actions should be punished or pardoned. Included on the post are links to the game chat for all 3 games he was reported in.
Now the reason I posted this over here in the pub is I really want the opinion of everyone young and old. I want to know if you think video games are ruining the mind sets of some of today's youth.
I personally think video games have turned a lot of kids into brainless shit heads who no longer know wrong from right and I bet their attitudes ON video games trickle into their real lives.
I personally blame the parents though, how about you?

This game is notorious for people getting mad exclusively over it. I honestly do think video games play a big role in the developing minds of our teenagers and blame them for a lot of dumb kids.
I highly doubt this person called his mom a faggot for making macaroni and cheese for dinner when he wanted hamburgers.

I ignore anyone who annoys me and I agree, banning for language is straight retarded.
They do ban for feeding/afk way way more than verbal abuse but some people just go too far and get banned.
I only have about 500-600 wins between all of my accounts in normal but I'm rocking at least 2k+ ranked games. Fizz is awesome too, that burst way too strong.

It changes you...that's for sure. Don't stick to the meta or last pick what your team needs and you're automatically a "troll fag" or something and the game gets ruined by it.
Normal is nice because everyone for the most part is just there to have fun. Ranked gets out of control though the majority of the time.
My only recommendation would be to find a really good duo queue partner for ranked so you have someone to work with. Usually it's best to have one of you jungle and other take a carry role either ranged ad bot or an ap mid. Control dragons/buffs/baron/map and you win.

yeah thats what i hear, and i solo a lot. try to carry noobs in normal games.
no one will take objectives, so i just work on last hitting properly during lane ;p

And fuck playing AD Carry on a duo if the person you're duoing with isn't playing support. Seems pointless.

well you never know, but lets try a more legit scenario, some fat kid at school steals his pudding at lunch and he gets mad and calls him a faggot
all thats really changed is information, 40 years ago parents could control there kids because 1 of them didn't have to work. In addition, the internet has made it impossible to control the information that gets downloaded into the heads of kids today.
But that being said kids aren't really bigger assholes really, they just know more words. Words which are only a expression of feelings, 40 years ago people tried to control everyones feelings by limiting our expressions.
people can say "screw you" or "fuck you" and we tend to use taboo words for when we have high emotions, yet a person afraid of a punishment for a taboo word could very well mean the same thing when he says "screw you". now maybe thats a slightly bad example but anyways the point being is the emotion through the decades hasn't really changed, people get pissed off at everything. The delivery of it has changed and become clearer. Then again society has been turning us more and more into robots so we are all more stressed from increased regulations.

Bottom lane can't carry a game to victory with a duo queue. You want a jungle and a mid or a jungle and a ranged ad for dragon control early and to ensure that any lanes that are losing get turned around.
Example: Top lane is losing so the jungle focuses their efforts into ganking and bot lane is losing in CS so mid goes down and ganks the lane for a double kill putting your team back ahead in global gold.
If mid and top are losing how is a support and ranged ad that are winning their lane going to effect the outcome of the already lost game? Win your lanes, win games.
Sorry no offense and not trying to sound like a know it all but I've played at a platinum level several times and this duo queue set up helps you win games more than wasting the talent of a good mid jungle or even top on a support.

I won't act like I'm great at the game or anything, and I definitely get what you're saying about not being able to carry bot (though I have had success duoing bot with a friend at low Elo). My point is the reason you can't carry bot as a duo don't really change much if one of your duo leaves to play another lane or jungle. You're still bot with someone else. Someone else can still fuck the lane for you. Only one of your solo lanes is you or the person you queued with. If the attitude is duo to lock down two lanes and carry the game, it makes way more sense to either have a jungler and solo lane or two solo lanes. Sticking one of them bot just seems worthless to me (keeping aside who mains what and all of that of course).
I also think supports not being able to carry is one of the biggest misconceptions in the game. There's a higher likelihood that you can play absolutely amazingly and have it matter less, but there are things you can do as a support that elevate your team to win.

i don't know why LoL has such a bad community. By far the worst of any game i've played.
I don't know about banning for language, in that game its a pretty much a give and take equal blame thing most of the time.
Suiciding on baron and then trying to chat log your way out of it is pretty scammy though. ban.

I agree with this statement for the most part in lower elo 1300 and below. A really good support who knows timers or has map awareness and saves their team with that soraka ult can turn a game in their favor completely.
At the end of the day though I've carried my support in bottom lane 90% of the time compared to them carrying me the other 10%. I play with a support mentality in every single lane and call out timers and mia's for other lanes and such.
If my support is completey herp derp I just sit back and farm minions and watch them die. I also place wards for them even if it means I wont get my BF sword as soon as I'd like. The only time I do that though is if they don't take my advice and ward the tri-bush + dragon at all times.
This game gets stuck in a rut a lot because of the current meta. This is the main reason I insist on not having a duo in a bottom lane to try and carry the entire game unless it's something outside of the meta. As it stands right now a large majority of top players believe that strong junglers win games which is why they did the jungle changes 3 months back or so. The only thing it really effected though is the ability for a jungle to snowball out of control within the first 5-7 minutes of the game.
